Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Vancouver Island Regional Library selects the Sierra Library Services Platform. Innovative announced today that Vancouver Island Regional Library, in British Columbia, Canada, has selected the Sierra Library Services Platform and will migrate from a Horizon system provided by SirsiDynix. VIRL serves its community across 38 locations with 1.1 million items. The fourth largest system in British Columbia, VIRL has an annual circulation of over 5 million. [Full Announcement].

Integrated Technology Group. Vancouver Island Chooses ITG for New Self-Checkout Kiosks. Integrated Technology Group continues its expansion into Canada with the addition of Vancouver Island Regional Library to its customer roster. The third largest library system in British Columbia, VIRL is replacing existing self-checkout kiosks from another vendor with ITG XpressCheck units. The 38-location system will begin with 8 – 10 units in year one, gradually expanding the system’s self-checkout capacity. [Full Announcement].
