The University of Pennsylvania Libraries has successfully completed the migration of Scholarly Commons, the University's open access institutional repository. This migration involved transitioning from BePress Digital Commons to an Atmire repository. [Full Announcement].

Ex Libris University of Pennsylvania Libraries becomes 250th institution to select Ex Libris Leganto solution. Ex Libris, a ProQuest companyd,announce that the University of Pennsylvania Libraries has signed an agreement to implement the Ex Libris Leganto course resource list solution. Penn's library system is the 250th institution to select the Leganto solution, which puts libraries at the forefront of teaching and learning. The Penn Libraries anticipates that the Leganto tool will provide easy access to library materials for students who are attending classes in person or online. [Full Announcement].

Backstage Library Works. Backstage completes TEI encoding of Leeser correspondence for the University of Pennsylvania. Backstage Library Works and the University of Pennsylvania Libraries have collaborated to bring full-text search and discovery to the entire collection of Isaac Leeser's correspondence. Kirtas Technologies. Penn Libraries and Kirtas Technologies team up to make more than 200,000 books available for research and purchase. Kirtas Technologies announced a partnership with the University of Pennsylvania Libraries to make over 200,000 titles available to the public in a unique way. Using existing information drawn from Pennís catalog records, Kirtas is able to offer out-of-copyright books for sale through its own retail site, What makes this initiative unique is that the books can be offered for sale before they are ever digitized, so there is no up-front printing, production or storage cost. Ex Libris announced the success of the award-winning SFX and MetaLib systems, with the signing of eighteen new customers in the last month in North America alone. OCLC OCLC SiteSearch Suite 4.0 improves access for institutions. The students and faculties of the Universities of Pennsylvania and Saskatchewan and a consortium of private academic libraries throughout Indiana now have improved access to local and remote databases, thanks to the new Java-based OCLC SiteSearch suite of software.
