Ex Libris Five top UK Universities join Ex Libris RapidILL Community to accelerate delivery of materials in remote learning environments. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that five prominent UK universities—Imperial College London, UCL, the University of Liverpool, the University of Manchester, and the University of St Andrews—have decided to join the growing RapidILL community in the United Kingdom, giving their library users quick and easy access to materials via the cloud-based Ex Libris RapidILL interlibrary loan system. After integrating the system into their library workflows, the universities will benefit from the delivery of requested resources within 24 hours, thus providing patrons with maximum resource accessibility. ProQuest The Summon Service Goes Open Beta in Europe. The University of Liverpool Library launches to the public an open beta of the Summon web-scale discovery service, a groundbreaking instant search of the full breadth of the content found in its library collections. In addition to the librarians who have already been testing it actively, the Summon service is now being used by students and faculty to search the holdings of the library – physical and digital – from a single search box. The University of Liverpool Library is the first European open beta site for this service and only the second public instance in the world behind Dartmouth College Library which just opened its beta site to the public in June. ProQuest Serials Solutions Signs New Beta Partners and Content for the Summon Unified Discovery Service. Serials Solutions signed new beta development partners and new content providers to its revolutionary new Summon unified discovery service. University of Sydney and University of Liverpool join Dartmouth College and Oklahoma State University as a beta development sites for the new service. New content will be contributed from such publishing leaders as the American Psychological Association and Alexander Street Press, both acclaimed sources of scholarly journal content.
