Four major public universities in Valencia sign a joint contract with Ex Libris to modernize their library systems and promote rapid growth with Ex Libris Alma and Primo. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that the University of Valencia, the University of Alicante, Jaume I University, and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, all public universities in Valencia, Spain, have together selected the Ex Libris Alma library services platform and Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. A consortium of public university libraries will be created, enabling the member institutions to have a shared catalog and to collaborate in areas such as acquisitions and staff training. University of Alicante selects WorldCat Local. The library of the University of Alicante has selected WorldCat Local as its new discovery tool. The library’s administration plans to deliver the enhanced discovery experience with its extensive range of available content from more than 800 million electronic, digital and physical items, centrally indexed in WorldCat, to its users later this year.
