Mississippi State University Selects EBSCO Discovery Service from EBSCO Publishing. Mississippi State University has chosen EBSCO Discovery Service from EBSCO Publishing as its discovery tool. The university library was looking to bring all of its resources together under a single search box. EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customized index of an institution’s information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box—searching made even more powerful because of the quality of metadata and depth and breadth of coverage. Ex Libris hosts MetaLib for Mississippi State University. Ex Libris announced that three Mississippi universities have chosen MetaLib for their federated search solution. Included in the consortium are Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, and Delta State University. [Full Announcement].

SFX in Mississippi. Five universities in Mississippi have joined forces to provide their staff members and students with SFX, the original OpenURL-compliant linking server from Ex Libris. After reviewing a number of similar applications, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, the University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi Valley State University, and Delta State University have opted for SFX to create an advanced research environment. Ex Libris announced the success of the award-winning SFX and MetaLib systems, with the signing of eighteen new customers in the last month in North America alone.
