Polaris Library Systems. Polaris Library Systems Announces ILS Version 3.3. Polaris Library Systems announced that version 3.3 of the Polaris Integrated Library System is in production. Beta test partners include Pierce County Library System, Washington and Fayetteville Public Library, Arkansas. [Full Announcement].

Polaris Library Systems. New Polaris self-check station with imbedded RFID software obviates need for SIP. GIS Information Systems, Inc. announced an approach to self-check that eliminates the need for an intervening protocol, such as SIP, to communicate with the library''s automation system, improving speed and performance and allowing a library to replicate staff-based circulation procedures in the self-check environment. Polaris Library Systems. GIS Polaris sales outpacing 2002 by wide margin. GIS Information Systems is realizing record sales of its Polaris integrated library system with more than twice as many systems sold from June through November 2003 as were sold during the same time period in 2002. Close to forty percent of the contracts are with libraries new to GIS, with the remainder representing GALAXY to Polaris migrations. [Full Announcement].

GIS Information Systems announced that the Fayetteville Public Library (AR) has selected the Polaris integrated library system as its new automation system.
