The pilot program, which began on January 21, 2025, supports authors across 33 countries in Latin America, including in Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean, to publish research in Wiley's portfolio of nearly 600 gold open access journals. Discounts on Article Publication Charges are applied in direct relationship to the Purchasing Power Index value of each participating country, informed by data from the World Bank International Comparison Program. Wiley and Vanderbilt University's Heard Libraries sign agreement to publish more open access research. Academic Partnerships, a company that assists primarily regional public universities in expanding access and impact by supporting their online programs, today announced that it has successfully completed its acquisition of Wiley University Services, a line of business previously owned by Wiley. Wiley announces CEO transition. Wiley announced the departure of Brian Napack as President and Chief Executive Officer and the appointment of Matthew Kissner as Interim CEO, effective immediately. Mr. Kissner previously served as Wiley's Group Executive and Board Chair, as well as Interim CEO from May to December 2017. Wiley's Edifix integrates with the Retraction Watch Database to improve research integrity. Wiley and the Retraction Watch Database, a project of the Center for Scientific Integrity whose mission is to promote transparency and integrity in science and scientific publishing, announced a new integration that aims to bolster research integrity. Edifix, a Wiley software application for reference lists, is now integrated with the Retraction Watch Database to alert users when citations to retracted content appear in authors' submitted reference lists. Tuition.io, a leading education assistance benefits provider, has acquired Wiley's Tuition Manager business, which enables employers to offer a range of tuition assistance benefits to their workforces. Terms are undisclosed. The acquisition is the culmination of a successful relationship between Tuition.io, Wiley and HostedHR dating back more than four years. Raineri joins Wiley as Senior Vice President Leading Wiley University Services. Wiley and CzechELib sign first open access agreement in Czech Republic. Wiley announced an open access agreement with Czech National Library of Technology. The four-year agreement will provide CzechELib participants access to view and publish in Wiley's complete hybrid journal portfolio, which includes 1,400 journals, beginning January 16, 2023. Wiley is pioneering the open access movement in Czech Republic, being one of the first publishers to sign an open access agreement within the country. Wiley and Projekt DEAL Extend Open Access Agreement into Fifth Year. Wiley, a global leader in research and education, today announced the fifth year extension of its landmark open access agreement with Projekt DEAL, the countrywide consortium representative of more than 900 academic institutions in Germany. This extension will allow authors in Germany even more open access publishing options, with an additional 240 fully open access journals integrated into the contract for the first time. Statement on Wiley eBooks featured in ProQuest Academic Complete Library. In June 2020, Wiley requested our library aggregator partner ProQuest transition approximately 1,380 ebooks out of its Academic Complete online digital library as part of a regular review of collections. In working with ProQuest, this change was delayed to August 2022 for contractual reasons and to provide time for customers to make any necessary adjustments. Nevertheless, many customers were caught off guard. After reviewing the decision against the current environment and listening to our customers, we are returning these ebooks to the ProQuest Academic Complete collection so libraries that subscribe to the service can access them again.
