Turnitin. Turnitin announces AI writing detector and AI writing resource center for educators. Turnitin has successfully developed an AI writing detector that, in its lab, identifies 97 percent of ChatGPT and GPT3 authored writing, with a very low less than 1/100 false positive rate. The company plans to add this functionality to its core writing integrity products as early as April 2023. The new functionality will operate within the existing Turnitin workflow so that educators will be able to analyze content and use feedback tools in the same user experience they have today. Turnitin. Turnitin acquires Gradescope. College enrollment and degrees awarded in STEM subjects are on the rise, and with more courses come more assignments that need to be graded. Turnitin has acquired Gradescope, an assessment platform that reduces the time associated with grading in college courses via an optimized online workflow and clever application of artificial intelligence. Instructors and Students can now access Turnitin’s originality checking and feedback features via a new integration with Daymap. Daymap announces its integration with Turnitin. Turnitin. Former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan hoins Turnitin Board. Arne Duncan, former United States Secretary of Education, has joined the Turnitin Board of Directors. Duncan, United States Secretary of Education from 2009 through December 2015, is currently the managing partner of education group Emerson Collective. Turnitin. Turnitin Adding Textbooks from W. W. Norton to Database giving college faculty a way to compare for content matches. Turnitin and W. W. Norton & Company have signed an agreement to supply academic textbook content that has been published by W. W. Norton & Company to the Turnitin database. VeriCite has established itself as a leader in providing originality checking tools that provide tight integrations into LMS workflows and a smooth customer experience. VeriCite CEO Valerie Schreiner, who previously held senior-level positions at Elluminate, Blackboard, and Schoolzilla, will bring a wealth of EdTech leadership to our organization. Turnitin. Turnitin Announces Development of solution to address contract cheating in partnership with Leading Educational Institutions. Turnitin’s upcoming solution, Authorship Investigation—available in the second half of 2018—will support institutions in identifying and investigating potential contract cheating incidences. The new capability will use a combination of machine learning algorithms and forensic linguistic best practices to detect major differences in students’ writing style between papers.
