Taylor and Francis New books on key global issues published open access through collaborative funding pilot. Twenty-six new books are being published open access at the end of the first year of Taylor & Francis' collaborative funding pilot, Pledge to Open. Each OA title tackles a key global challenge, including climate change, mental health, women's rights, populism, and racism. Developed to provide a new equitable OA option, Pledge to Open enables new books to maximize their reach and impact without requiring authors to have funding to cover OA publishing charges. Taylor and Francis Taylor & Francis issues expanded guidance on AI application for authors, editors and reviewers. As the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in research and writing continues to evolve, Taylor & Francis has issued the latest iteration of its policy on the application of AI tools. The policy aims to promote ethical and transparent use of AI, while addressing the risks and challenges it can pose for research publishing. To support the responsible adoption of AI opportunities, and to answer common questions, Taylor & Francis has launched a new policy outlining the expectations of authors, editors, and reviewers who use AI tools in their work. The guidance for authors is based on the principle that they remain accountable for the originality, validity, and integrity of the content they submit to publishers. Taylor and Francis Unicamp and Taylor & Francis sign the University's first transformative agreement. The State University of Campinas, one of Latin America's leading institutions, has announced a new partnership with Taylor & Francis to increase the global reach and impact of its research through open access publishing.Unicamp's first transformative agreement is a significant commitment to OA, supporting corresponding authors to publish their articles open access in more than 2,300 Taylor & Francis and Routledge journals, both hybrid and full OA. Taylor and Francis Penny Ladkin-Brand appointed Chief Executive of Taylor & Francis. Penny Ladkin-Brand joins the Informa Leadership Team as the Chief Executive of Taylor & Francis. She brings considerable growth-oriented leadership experience in specialist publishing, digital acceleration and the development of online platforms. Penny is currently Chief Financial and Strategy Officer at Future plc, having previously been Commercial Director at Autotrader Plc. Penny joined Future in 2015 and partnered with the CEO to grow the business tenfold into a specialist media platform through a combination of organic and inorganic growth. United Arab Emirates University, the first and foremost comprehensive university in UAE, and international research publisher Taylor & Francis announced a new three-year transformative agreement. Researchers at UAEU can now choose open access in over 2,500 journals, boosting the potential reach and impact of their work. The new read and publish agreement, Taylor & Francis' first in UAE, will support the University's mission to provide impactful societal and research contributions, by ensuring everyone everywhere can access the latest UAEU research outcomes. Corresponding UAEU authors will be supported to publish open access articles in all Taylor & Francis and Routledge journals, both hybrid and full OA. Taylor and Francis Emily McElroy joins Taylor & Francis as Vice President of Academic Relations. Taylor & Francis has announced the appointment of Emily McElroy as VP of Academic Relations. In this newly created position, McElroy will deepen Taylor & Francis' partnerships with academic libraries and institutions across the Americas. McElroy was Dean of the McGoogan Health Sciences Library at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Associate Dean of Research and Health Sciences at the George A. Taylor and Francis Michigan State University Libraries and Taylor & Francis announce new open access partnership. Supporting Michigan State University Libraries' mission to promote equal access to information for all, a new transformative agreement will allow MSU researchers to publish open access (OA) articles at no cost to them in 2,500 Taylor & Francis and Routledge journals. The three-year read-and-publish agreement ensures faculty and students have continued read-access to all Taylor & Francis journals while also supporting hundreds of researchers to choose open access in both hybrid and full OA titles. Taylor and Francis SANLiC and Taylor & Francis announce new open access program for researchers in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Researchers in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia will be supported to publish open access articles in over 2,100 journals through a three-year agreement reached by the South African National Library and Information Consortium and Taylor & Francis. Taylor and Francis Innovative open research Publisher PeerJ joins Taylor & Francis. Leading research publisher Taylor & Francis has announced the addition of PeerJ, a pioneer in broad-scope open access journals. PeerJ is best known for its multidisciplinary flagship title PeerJ Life & Environment serving the Biological, Medical and Environmental Sciences and PeerJ Computer Science (covering all areas of computer science, including AI, quantum, and robotics). In addition, PeerJ offers five titles in the Chemical Sciences, meaning that in total Taylor & Francis will welcome seven new journals to its open research program. [Full Announcement].

Taylor and Francis Vanderbilt University's Heard Libraries and Taylor & Francis announce transformative agreement to support open access publishing. Vanderbilt University's Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries and Taylor & Francis, one of the world's leading academic publishers, have signed a new three-year read-and-publish agreement that expands the breadth of journals available to Vanderbilt researchers and enhances the potential reach and impact of their published work. Under the agreement, corresponding authors based at the university can publish open access in 2,500 journals—both hybrid and fully OA—from Taylor & Francis and its Routledge imprint. Taylor and Francis Taylor & Francis extends Wikipedia editor access to all journals. Since 2015, The Wikipedia Library and Taylor & Francis partnership has supported active volunteer editors, who often lack access to university collections, to read Taylor & Francis journals in the arts and humanities, strategic studies, and business. The new agreement, which extends the program to more than 3 million articles across all subject disciplines, will substantially increase the diversity of content available to Wikipedia editors. Taylor and Francis Impact Boost for Mahidol University Research through new Taylor & Francis open access agreement. Researchers at Mahidol University in Thailand will be supported to publish open access journal articles through a new ‘read & publish' partnership with Taylor & Francis. The three-year deal is Taylor & Francis' first transformative agreement in Southeast Asia. Corresponding authors at the leading Thai university can now choose to publish OA in over 2,000 Taylor & Francis Open Select (hybrid) journals, boosting the reach of their research. Taylor and Francis Taylor & Francis Joins DOAB's Peer Review Transparency Initiative, PRISM. Taylor & Francis announced its support for an initiative to boost researcher confidence in open access books and promote better understanding of the role of peer review. Peer Review Information Service for Monographs provides a standardized way for publishers to present information about the peer review processes for their titles on the Directory of Open Access Books platform. review processes for their titles on the Directory of Open Access Books platform. Taylor and Francis Taylor & Francis Online streamlines researcher access to cited articles through GetFTR integration. Researchers will experience streamlined access to cited articles with the addition of GetFTR (Get Full Text Research) to the references sections of Taylor & Francis journals. The integrated GetFTR indicator enables users to see at a glance which cited articles are available to read next, with smart links for direct access.GetFTR icons signpost researchers to full text articles available through open access or their institutional library's subscriptions. Taylor and Francis Biomedical Publisher Future Science Group joins Taylor & Francis. Taylor & Francis announced the addition of Future Science Group, publisher of medical, biotechnological and scientific research. As well as bringing a portfolio of cutting-edge journals and digital hubs, FSG's leading publishing solutions program will enable Taylor & Francis to offer researchers and medical communication planners a host of additional services. Taylor & Francis now becomes the fourth largest publisher of pharma-funded research, with the addition of 32 peer-reviewed FSG journals and five digital hubs. These complement the existing range of over 340 Taylor & Francis medical and healthcare journals, including the Expert Collection, which is the world's largest series of review journals in research, development and clinical medicine.
