Enhancements in the release include the ability to merge request tags, easier management of custom fields, changes to the illumin API, updates to the Knowledge Base interface and the sharing of analytics queries, to name a few.

The free event for Liberty customers was also preceded by a site visit to the Environmental Protection Authority's library.

The personal data privacy of customers, and that of their end users, has always been important to Softlink Information Centres. The company has released an overview on what Softlink Information Centres is doing to keep pace with changing regulations.

(Softlink International) Released as Library Link in 2013, Softlink’s enhanced mobile app for libraries has been renamed Liberty Link, and is being demonstrated at the Australian Law Librarians Association Conference in Darwin in May.ALLA delegates will be able to download the new Liberty Link app for free and use it to interact with a virtual law library. Instructions on how to take part in the virtual experience will be included in delegate satchels and on the Softlink stand in the exhibition hall.

(Softlink International) After 12 years with the Softlink team, and over 35 in the library and information field, Softlink Information Centres would like to extend our warm wishes and thanks to Lyn Walker on her move to retirement.Lyn Walker joined Softlink in 2006 and has spent much of her time working closely with Softlink’s Oliver and Liberty users in training, support, implementations, business account management and sales.For the last few years, Lyn’s role has been the Business Development Consultant for our Information Centres division.
(Softlink International) The first of the quarterly Liberty library management system Virtual User Group Meetings for 2018 was held in March, with two sessions one each for the Northern and Southern hemisphere customer communities on the 13th the 15th of March respectively.

(Softlink International) Sydney Catholic Education Office schools are excited to be providing students with an engaging new interface for their Oliver v5 library solution. The new interface, ‘Orbit’, was designed specifically for junior and middle school students and is proving to be an inspiring tool for young readers. Orbit enables students to personalise their own library home page, using different backgrounds, avatars and colour schemes.

(Softlink International) Key findings include the statistical linking of school library funding and the number of professionals employed within the school library and NAPLAN Reading Literacy results. Softlink’s Managing Director, Nathan Godfrey, said these results have been consistent over the survey’s five year history and reinforce industry research that continues to link well-resourced school libraries to improved literacy. Additional findings indicate that school library budgets stabilised somewhat in 2014, with a smaller percentage of schools reporting a budget decrease.
