SAGE Sage's 10-Year Impact Awards celebrate lasting influence in research. For the fifth year, Sage has awarded its annual 10-Year Impact Awards, recognizing the authors of three academic papers with long-term influence. This year's awards honor the most-cited articles published in Sage Journals in 2013. The winning papers received more citations over the past decade than any other study released during that year. SAGE Sage Launches Free Course in ChatGPT Literacy. Sage and Technology from Sage, a provider of innovative library technology solutions, has launched a free online course to develop users' proficiency in ChatGPT. The Art of ChatGPT Interactions is taught by Dr. Leo S. Lo, Dean of the College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences at the University of New Mexico. In the course, Dr. Lo provides comprehensive instruction on AI prompting and demonstrates how users can leverage this knowledge to create high-quality prompt outputs and dialogues on ChatGPT. SAGE Sage partners with Cassyni to showcase open access research through seminars. Sage is partnering with Cassyni, the research seminar platform, to enable guest editors to introduce special collection topics using live community seminars. This new feature for Sage's open access (OA) journals will help researchers discover special collections relevant to their research and offer authors new channels to grow their post-publication impact. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present a video seminar about their article. On publication, these seminar recordings will be embedded alongside the publication on the Sage Journals platform, enhanced with Cassyni's semantic video AI technology. [Full Announcement].

SAGE ResearchGate and Sage expand Journal Home partnership to cover 100 journals. ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and Sage, a leading global academic publisher, are excited to announce an expanded partnership that promises greater research impact for Sage open access journals' authors. This collaboration more than doubles the number of open access Sage journals now available through ResearchGate's Journal Home, bringing the total to 100. The expanded agreement builds on an initial collaboration that began in January 2023, and now includes all frontlist and backlist content from open access journals covering a broad range of disciplines. The version-of-record for more than 85,000 open access articles from these 100 journals will now be available to ResearchGate's 25 million-plus researcher members, with new articles from these journals to be made available through ResearchGate upon publication. SAGE New Librarian Futures report sheds light on librarian perspectives on the current librarian skills landscape. Based on Skilltype data and a Librarian Survey, the new Technology from Sage report explores the current librarian skills landscape and identifies areas for further development. The second Librarian Futures report asked the question: How can academic libraries be more deeply involved in the undergraduate learning journey? This new report, in partnership with Skilltype, explores the emerging skills required to fulfil a library's mission – in a decade shaped by social, political, and technological change – and meet the needs of today's library patrons. We gathered global perspectives from over 2,000 academic library professionals, from frontline librarians to library directors, to ensure a representative set of insights for the report. SAGE Acquisition marks joining of two independent academic publishers. Global independent academic publisher Sage has acquired IOS Press, an independent publisher founded in Amsterdam in 1987 that specializes in health, life, and computer sciences. With this move, Sage acquires nearly 100 journals and a frontlist of 70 plus books each year covering subjects such as neuroscience, medical informatics, cancer research, artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and the semantic web. The acquisition marks significant growth in Sage's open access program with the addition of more than 20 fully OA journals. It also expands core subject areas for Sage, such as psychology and engineering, and marks an investment in new areas such as AI and image processing. [Full Announcement].

SAGE Sage Launches Literacy Information Microsite for Combatting Mis-, Dis-, and Malinformation. Sage has unveiled a literary resource hub aimed at countering the rise of online misinformation, disinformation, and deceptive content. The newly launched Literacy Information Microsite is dedicated to addressing the issues of mis-, dis-, and malinformation that are prevalent in the digital realm. This platform offers open-access research articles on vital topics such as digital literacy, censorship, propaganda, digital society, media ethics, and the perils of mis-, dis-, and malinformation. SAGE ResearchGate and Sage announce partnership. ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and Sage, a global academic publisher of books, journals, and a growing suite of library products and services, have today announced a partnership that sees 47,000 articles from 48 of Sage's open access journals being syndicated directly to ResearchGate.Authors of the articles will see their content added automatically to their publication pages on ResearchGate, giving them access to statistics showing the impact of their work, and enabling them to connect with their readers, with the scope of the agreement encompassing all frontlist and backlist content from the included journals. The motivation for the partnership stems from Sage's role as a long-term advocate of open science and ResearchGate's aim to make science open to all. [Full Announcement].

Sage has acquired the catalog of Chicago Business Press, an independent textbook publisher focusing on mid- to upper-level business, management, marketing, and sales courses. SAGE Sage and Bodyswaps create virtual reality experiences to support business education. Sage, a global academic publisher, and Bodyswaps, an award-winning virtual reality platform, have announced an expanded partnership to develop immersive experiences for soft skills training in business education. A newly planned series of modules will focus on a variety of business-related soft skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. Launching in the fall of 2023, it builds on the success of the organizations' 2019 collaboration, the Mental Health Practitioner VR experience, a product that supports higher education training in health and social welfare programs. SAGE New SAGE white paper argues business schools should Hack the Status Quo in business research. SAGE released a white paper identifying critical gaps in the metrics that business schools use to evaluate research. Co-authored by Dr. Usha Haley, professor of management at Wichita State University, and Andrew Jack, a global education editor for the Financial Times, “Measuring Societal Impact in Business & Management Research: From Challenges to Change” examines the challenges of measuring societal impact in business research. Pulling from surveys of business school academics from the Academy of Management, SAGE, Financial Times, and Times Higher Education, the authors review the commonly used measures of scholarly impact and address their concerns, including policies and practices of academic journals. SAGE SAGE Publishing and Council of Australian University Libraries reach new Read and Publish agreement. SAGE Publishing and the Council of Australian University Librarians, the negotiating body representing universities in Australia and New Zealand, have announced a new Open Access Agreement which will expand publishing opportunities for ANZ researchers. Researchers at member institutions will have access to SAGE's vast collection of journals in the social and behavioral sciences, and growing quality STM research portfolio. With the help of SAGE's Open Access Portal, a platform dedicated to supporting OA workflows, authors will benefit from a seamless experience that guides them through licenses and streamlines the OA publication process. SAGE AM and Big Ten Academic Alliance partnership provides researchers with access to millions of pages of primary source content. AM, a SAGE company, has announced a major new agreement with premier library consortium, the Big Ten Academic Alliance. Students, researchers and scholars at 15 of the leading research institutions in the United States will now have unified access to millions of pages of essential primary source content from the entire AM core collections portfolio. Working closely with BTAA and the framework of their strategic Big Collection initiative, AM has rolled out its Impact purchase model across the entire group. SAGE Publishing has announced the winners of the 2022 SAGE Concept Grant, with £15,000 awarded to Causal Map, a tool that identifies and visualizes causal connections in speech and writing.
