RELX RELX PLC announces changes to Board and Committee roles. RELX PLC announces that, having served as a Director since 2013 and currently holding the roles of Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee, Dr Wolfhart Hauser will retire from the Board following the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held on 20 April 2023. Suzanne Wood will succeed Dr Hauser as Senior Independent Director and Robert MacLeod will succeed Dr Hauser as Chair of the Remuneration Committee, each with effect from the conclusion of the Company's AGM, subject to their re-election by shareholders at the AGM. RELX RELX signs The Climate Pledge to become net zero by no later than 2040. RELX, a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers, reaffirms its commitment to climate action by signing The Climate Pledge to become net zero by no later than 2040. The Climate Pledge is a cross-sector community of more than 100 companies and organisations, working together to address the climate crisis. In signing the pledge, a company commits to address three principle areas of action: to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions regularly, to implement decarbonisation strategies for emissions reductions and to neutralise remaining emissions with high quality offsets to achieve net zero annual carbon emissions by 2040. RELX Proposed simplification of the corporate structure. RELX PLC and RELX NV announced a proposed further simplification of RELX Group's corporate structure, moving from the current dual parent holding company structure to a single parent company. The simplification follows the significant measures which were completed in 2015 and is a natural next step for RELX Group, removing complexity and increasing transparency. It is proposed that RELX PLC and RELX NV will merge, with RELX PLC becoming the sole parent company of RELX Group plc. It is proposed that, RELX NV shareholders will receive one new RELX PLC share in exchange for each RELX NV share held at the time the simplification becomes effective, retaining their economic interest in the group at that time. RELX New name for Reed Elsevier: RELX Group. From February 25, ownership of all Reed Elsevier businesses, subsidiaries and financing activities below the two listed parent companies, Reed Elsevier PLC and Reed Elsevier NV, has been transferred to a new single group entity. This entity has been named RELX Group plc. RELX Group plc will continue to be owned by Reed Elsevier PLC, the London listing vehicle, and Reed Elsevier NV, the Amsterdam listing vehicle, although we will be asking shareholders at the Annual General Meeting to change their names to RELX PLC and RELX NV respectively. Reed Business Information and Construction Equipment magazine announced that RBI has acquired Spec Check U.S. LLC, the leading data provider of construction and agricultural equipment specification comparisons. RELX Harcourt Assessment acquires Ordinate Corporation. Leading test publisher Harcourt Assessment, Inc., announced that it has acquired Ordinate Corporation, a privately held company that specialises in automated language proficiency assessments and provides test delivery and scoring services. RELX RBI Netherlands has acquired Dutch publisher Info Sales. Reed Business Information in the Netherlands has acquired Info Sales, a Dutch publishing company that is based in Amsterdam. Info Sales has a unique database that provides sales leads to companies that supply furnishings and materials to the Dutch construction and industrial markets. The Info Sales database works by collecting materials and furnishings data from building and reconstruction projects and matching the data to the companies that supply these products and services. This provides the Info Sales customers with in-depth and customised sales leads. [Full Announcement].

RELX Reed International P.L.C and Elsevier NV shareholders approve proposals to change the company's name. At the Reed International P.L.C. Annual General Meeting held on 9 April, shareholders approved a proposal to change the company's name to Reed Elsevier PLC. [Full Announcement].

RELX Reed Elsevier announces the acquisition of Miller Freeman Europe for £360/ $585 million. Reed Elsevier announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with United News & Media plc to acquire the businesses comprising Miller Freeman Europe for £360/(Euro) 585 million. The businesses will be integrated principally within Reed Exhibition Companies which, following the acquisition, will be the world's largest exhibition organiser. [Full Announcement].

RELX Reed Elsevier to divest Springhouse. Reed Elsevier announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell its US subsidiary, Springhouse Corporation, to Wolters Kluwer NV. Springhouse, based in Philadelphia, USA, is a leading provider of information products and services to the US nursing market and reported revenues in 1999 of $59 million. RELX Reed Elsevier to acquire CMD group. Reed Elsevier announced that its US based business information subsidiary Cahners Business Information, has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire CMD Group (formerly known as Construction Market Data Group) for $299.5m. The acquisition is a significant expansion of Reed Elsevier's position in the worldwide construction information market. Together with Cahners' existing construction magazines and websites, the CMD Group portfolio provides a strong platform for the development of Reed Elsevier's internet strategies in this sector. RELX Proposed merger of Reed Elsevier and Wolters Kluwer. The Boards of Reed International PLC (Reed), Elsevier NV (Elsevier) and Wolters Kluwer NV (Wolters Kluwer) announce that they have agreed in principle to propose to their respective shareholders a merger of their businesses. The new combination will be the world's largest professional and scientific publishing and information group, with a strong presence in the markets of North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region, and prominent market positions in legal and tax, scientific, business, educational and medical publishing. The combined businesses will have the financial and management strength to exploit fully new product development and growth opportunities across the portfolio in a period when technology change offers considerable potential. RELX Reed Elsevier to acquire Chilton Business Group for $447 Million. Reed Elsevier plc announced that it has agreed to acquire the three principal divisions of Chilton Business Group from ABC, Inc., a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, for a cash consideration of $447 million. This acquisition is an important extension of Reed Elsevier's position as a leading business-to-business publisher in the United States. RELX Reed Elsevier divests Folio Corporation. Reed Elsevier announced the sale of Folio Corporation, its US based developer of information publishing software, to Open Market Inc., a leading provider of Internet commerce software. The purchase consideration will be $45 million to be paid partly in cash and partly in stock of Open Market Inc., which is quoted on NASDAQ. Folio was acquired by Reed Elsevier in December 1994 as part of the LEXIS-NEXIS purchase. [Full Announcement].

RELX Reed Elsevier acquires Tolley Publishing Company. Reed Elsevier plc announced that it has completed the acquisition of Tolley Publishing Company from United News & Media for a cash consideration of £100.5 million. RELX Reed Elsevier PLC enters strategic alliance with Times Mirror to acquire Shepard's. Reed Elsevier and The Times Mirror Company announced the formation of a 50/50 partnership to own and operate Shepard's, the premier US legal citation business which, as also announced today, The Times Mirror Company has agreed to purchase from The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. This is another step in what is expected to become a broad based collaboration between Reed Elsevier and Times Mirror to pursue jointly new opportunities to expand in the US legal information market.
