PALS. PALS, Carleton and St. Olaf colleges team up to ignite an exciting new research experience. The Bridge Consortium of Carleton and St. Olaf colleges in Northfield, Minn. have teamed up with PALS to integrate Web Scale Discovery with VuFind using a new display approach called channeling. PALS. PALS implements new VuFind overlay: PALS partners with Northfield's Bridge Consortium to provide user-friendly search experience for college students. PALS is taking innovative steps to improve the student research experience at Carleton College and St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a new overlay for the colleges' shared library catalog. This fall, PALS signed a contract with the Bridge Consortium to customize, host and support a VUFIND overlay for their library catalog. This new interface makes library collections more visible and attractive to today's web users while using the consortium's current underlying Integrated Library System from Innovative Interfaces, Inc. VUFIND provides a clean interface with faceted searching and includes social networking features such as tagging and user comments. [Full Announcement].

PALS. East Central Regional Library Switches to Evergreen. The East Central Regional Library, which is based in Cambridge and serves Aitkin, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine Counties, will soon become the first Minnesota public library system to migrate to an open source integrated library system, Evergreen. The migration is also a first for the PALS in Mankato, which is hosting East Central Regional's new Evergreen-based catalog. [Full Announcement].
