Oxford University Press Oxford University Press unveils landmark Read and Publish deal in Japan. Oxford University Press announced a transformative three-year Read and Publish agreement with major journals consortium, the Japan Alliance of University Library Consortia for E-Resources. Under the agreement, members of the JUSTICE consortium that opt-in will be able to rapidly increase the proportion of articles that they publish open access in OUP journals. The consortium's institutions will also benefit from discounts on article processing charges (APCs) for fully open access journals, as well as comprehensive access to OUP's full collection of high-quality journals. Oxford University Press Oxford University Press joins Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA). Oxford University Press announced that it will join the Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA), a collaboration between publishers, infrastructure organisations, librarians, and researchers to promote the open availability of abstracts. Through joining I4OA OUP commits to making the abstracts of our scholarly publications available in an open and machine-accessible way. By making abstracts widely available, I4OA aims to boost the discoverability of scholarly research and increase its impact. It brings abstracts together in a common format in a searchable cross-disciplinary database, providing opportunities for analysis via text mining, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. Oxford University Press Oxford University Press joins the Coalition for Responsible Sharing. Oxford University Press has joined the Coalition for Responsible Sharing, an alliance of publishers and learned societies who are taking action against copyright infringement by ResearchGate. The Coalition for Responsible Sharing aims to prevent the illicit hosting of millions of subscription articles on the commercial ResearchGate site and offer alternative, sustainable solutions to help the research community share their published material online in useful and appropriate ways. Oxford University Press Oxford University Press announces agreement with Silverchair to accelerate its ambitious technology bision. The Global Academic Division of Oxford University Press announced that it has entered into an agreement with Silverchair Information Systems to migrate its extensive portfolio of journals and many of its online products to a new publishing platform powered by Silverchair’s SCM technology.
