OhioLINK OhioLINK and IOP Publishing sign uncapped transformative agreement. OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, entered into a three-year unlimited transformative agreement with society publisher IOP Publishing. Beginning January 1, 2023, the agreement enables authors affiliated with participating OhioLINK member institutions to publish their work open access at no cost to them. It also provides reading access to all 72 IOPP journals across the fields of physics, materials science, biosciences, astronomy and astrophysics, environmental sciences, and mathematics. OhioLINK OhioLINK consortium receives funding to modernize its shared library management system. OhioLINK announces the consortium has received funding through the Ohio Department of Higher Education for its 117 members to replace its shared Integrated Library System. An ILS is the backbone of library operations and used to manage circulation, acquisitions, and cataloging, as well as to generate the underlying data that drives library business decisions and reporting. OhioLINK will be able to leverage cooperative purchasing power and shared technical expertise using capital funds to cover the cost of the software and the migration process for its member institutions. OhioLINK Chancellor Gardner appoints Pawlowski as OhioLINK executive director. Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner has named Amy Pawlowski executive director of OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, effective immediately. Pawlowski joined OhioLINK in 2013 as deputy director for operations and e-licensing. She has served in an interim capacity since February. [Full Announcement].

OhioLINK Announcement regarding the departure of Gwen Evans. OhioLINK announces the departure of Executive Director Gwen Evans. Deputy Director Amy Pawlowski has been named Interim Executive Director, effective February 28, 2020. [Full Announcement].

OhioLINK OhioLINK and Ithaka S+R articulate needs that can guide future investments. OhioLINK, Ohio’s academic library consortium, collaborated with Ithaka S+R to put the library and its users at the center of an “envisioning” process to explore what tech-enabled and integrated services might be relevant to academic libraries. The effort was driven by library deans and directors concerns that strategic directions and technologies available to libraries--both at the consortial level, and on their campuses--were too narrowly scoped to meet emerging needs in a higher education context. The resulting white paper, It’s Not What Libraries Hold; It’s Who Libraries Serve--Seeking a User-Centered Future for Academic Libraries, is intended to generate constructive discussion among libraries and providers and accelerate innovation. OhioLINK Ohio Digital Network brings Ohio to DPLA. OhioLINK announced that more than 50,000 new materials from the Ohio Digital Network are now discoverable in Digital Public Library of America. Led by the State Library of Ohio and in partnership with OhioLINK, the Ohio Public Library Information Network, and the Ohio History Connection, the Ohio Digital Network builds on strong digital collection efforts across the state, including extensive digital collections at OhioLINK member institutions, Ohio Memory, and the Ohio Digitization Hubs project. OhioLINK Ohio University, OhioLINK awarded LSTA grant. Ohio University, in partnership with OhioLINK, has received a $46,207 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant for a pilot project geared toward the next generation of mass print storage. This pilot project will use data analysis to identify, select and preserve unique print materials from Ohio’s Southeast Regional Depository (SEORD) to relocate approximately 40,000 unique and uncommonly held print monographs. To contribute to statewide efforts on college affordability, OhioLINK will be joining the University of Minnesota’s Open Textbook Network, a consortium of colleges and universities working to advance open textbook initiatives. OhioLINK Chancellor, OhioLINK Advisory Board name Evans executive director of OhioLINK. Chancellor Jim Petro appointed Gwen Evans to serve as executive director of OhioLINK and placed the library consortium under the umbrella of the Ohio Technology Consortium. [Full Announcement].
