National Association of College Stores. indiCo announces transition of book distribution business to Ingram Content Group. indiCo LLC announced that it has reached an agreement to transition its wholesale book distribution business to long-time partner, Ingram Content Group (Ingram) as part of its strategy for winding down that line of business. Through this transition, customers will continue having access to an expansive list of titles, consolidated ordering options, and a dedicated customer care team with Ingram. [Full Announcement].

National Association of College Stores. Clarke University Partners with indiCo to Manage its Campus Bookstore. Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, has selected indiCo to operate its on-campus bookstore. Effective July 17, 2017, indiCo assumed management of the campus store and mailroom as part of a three-year agreement. The transition will take place over the coming months with a grand opening planned for fall 2017. [Full Announcement].

National Association of College Stores. Fort Hays State University to Launch New Hybrid Bookstore with Akademos and indiCo. Fort Hays State University (FHSU) has announced a partnership with Akademos, to provide a full-service, virtual course materials store and indiCo, to provide the institution with a best-in-class on campus store for all general merchandise such as FHSU clothing and gifts, school supplies, tech accessories and more. The hybrid partnership will dramatically lower textbook prices and provide an innovative and customized retail environment on campus. [Full Announcement].

National Association of College Stores. Macmillan Learning and indiCo join forces to provide College Students with More Affordable Course Materials. Macmillan Learning, a premier educational content and solutions company, and indiCo, a collaborative of independent campus stores, today announced a new consignment rental partnership to provide more college students with lower-cost course materials. Beginning with the fall term, the new partnership will allow independent campus stores to offer their students the cost-saving option of renting select Macmillan Learning textbooks and digital tools. Students will benefit from some of the lowest rental prices in the market, reaching savings of up to 60% of the cost of purchasing a new textbook. [Full Announcement].

National Association of College Stores. Ashland University’s Matt Portner elected indiCo board chair. Matt Portner, EJD, director of auxiliary services at Ashland University, has been elected as the 2018-19 board chair of indiCo, a subsidiary of the National Association of College Stores (NACS) that provides services and programs to independent campus stores. National Association of College Stores. Pearson and indiCo Partner to Bring Students More Affordable Textbooks in Campus Stores. Pearson and indiCo announced a new partnership to expand Pearson's recently announced textbook rental program to up to 1,500 independent campus bookstores. Beginning this fall, 50 popular Pearson titles will be available via a “rental-only” model, which will provide students with affordable access to the selected titles. This is the first partnership that allows on-campus bookstores to participate in Pearson's rental program and follows an agreement with an online retailer last week. All titles under this program can be rented for under $100, with electronic versions of these titles being the lowest-cost option. Pearson anticipates expanding the titles included in this program over time. [Full Announcement].

National Association of College Stores. National Association of College Stores Launches Independent Campus Stores Collaborative. The National Association of College Stores, announced that its subsidiary, indiCo, will offer a new operational model for campus stores. indiCo's Independent Campus Stores Collaborative gives higher education an alternative to leasing or self-operation of the campus store, one that provides students with more affordable course materials and returns more money to the institution through a collaborative business model. National Association of College Stores. Akademos and indiCo Join Forces to Create a One-Stop Shop Hybrid College Bookstore Solution. Akademos and indiCo announced a partnership to provide full-service virtual and physical bookstore solutions for colleges and universities. This hybrid bookstore solution will dramatically lower textbook prices, provide an innovative campus retail environment, facilitate the transition to new digital course materials and increase student readiness and academic success. NACS subsidiary indiCo expands services to Independent College Stores. indiCo LLC, a subsidiary of the National Association of College Stores (NACS) committed to supporting independent college stores, today completed its previously announced acquisition of Connect2One from Nebraska Book Company. Terms were not disclosed.Connect2One, the largest and most comprehensive buying group in the collegiate retailing industry, will become an integral and strategic unit of indiCo, a new NACS subsidiary focused on uniting independent college stores through innovation and shared strategy.
