Jackson County's 15 libraries to reopen through innovative public / private partnership with LSSI. Library Systems and Services, LLC has signed an agreement with Jackson County, Oregon, to reopen and operate the County's 15 library branches, including the 85,000 sq ft Central Library in Medford, under a 5 year contract. All 15 library branches closed April 7, 2007, after Congress failed to renew funding through the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act.
