Library Automation Technologies Marion Library implements largest lat-stena installation in Ohio. Library Automation Technologies announced that Marion Public Library, a leader and innovator processing on average over 50,000 checkouts per month, has gone live with a successful implementation of the largest LAT-Stena installation in Ohio. This system provides efficient and error-free handling of almost 8000 optical media items, which with high media circulation rate in the library, translates into support of circulation over 20,000 CDs, DVDs, BluRayís, PS2 and Audio Books. Library Automation Technologies Library staff get more control over automation. Library Automation Technologies announces new capabilities for its FlashScan product line, which allow libraries complete remote control capabilities in controlling power to their patron self-checkout systems. Based on survey of leading ILS vendors, most ILS systems strongly recommend nightly backups, which in turn often create havoc with other peripheral devices, which are connected to them by terminating their connections and ports. To combat this problem, new features allow staff to remotely define when the FlashScan systems are to be shut down prior to ILS backup outages or other related events. Further, a simple touch of any button on the system keypad will automatically turn the systems back on. [Full Announcement].
