HBCU Library Alliance HBCU Library Alliance Partners with Harvard Library to Expand Access to African American History Collections. The HBCU Library Alliance and Harvard Library this week announced a project to sustain and deepen capacity for the digitization, discovery, and preservation of African American history collections held in HBCU libraries and archives. Harvard's support for the HBCU Library Alliance's ongoing work is a step in addressing the University's complicity in slavery and the systemic and enduring educational inequities rooted in slavery and its legacies. HBCU Library Alliance HBCU Library Alliance Elects New Board Members. The Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU) Library Alliance announces two newly elected members and one newly re-appointed member of the HBCU Library Alliance Board of Directors. Rinalda L. Farrar, Ph.D. and Judith Rogers, MLIS are newly elected board members, and Monika Rhue, MLIS was elected to serve a second term. Elections were held in June for all members in good standing of the HBCU Library Alliance, and elected members serve 3-year appointments. [Full Announcement].

HBCU Library Alliance HBCU Library Alliance receives new grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Library Alliance has received a new grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the assessment and strengthening of library services for faculty research at historically black colleges and universities. The project will foster improved library services on individual HBCU campuses and develop collaborative approaches to expand HBCU community-wide library support for faculty research.
