Gale Group Gale Literature Resource Center enhances to support primary source literacy and instruction in the classroom. ale, part of Cengage Group has made major enhancements to Gale Literature Resource Center (LRC). The company has added new curated sets of primary sources and historical documents along with a host of other new and improved features to support primary source literacy and instruction. Developed based on user feedback, these updates were designed to make conceptualizing primary source documents easier for students who are less familiar using these resources, as well as provide instructors and librarians with content to contextualize literary works and serve as models to support primary source literacy. Gale Group Gale's Power to the People Archive wins 2024 SIIA CODiE awards. Gale, part of Cengage Group, announced that Power to the People: Counterculture, Social Movements, and the Alternative Press, Nineteenth to Twenty-First Century has been named the best Research and Development Database Solution of 2024 as part of the Software & Information Industry Association's annual CODiE Awards. The CODiE Awards recognize the companies producing the most innovative education technology products across the country and around the world. Gale Group Gale and State Library of Louisiana provide residents access to 25,000+ free online courses for skills development. The State Library of Louisiana and Gale, part of Cengage Group, have partnered to provide public libraries across the state with access to online learning platform, Gale Presents: Udemy. Available at no charge through all 334 public library locations across the state, the platform provides public library cardholders unlimited access to more than 25,000 continuously updated, on-demand video courses for personalized learning and upskilling across a variety of categories such as business, IT certifications, creative arts, personal finance, technology, wellness and more. Gale Group Gale Digital Scholar Lab expands to help students present and share Digital Humanities research. Gale, part of Cengage Group, has expanded the Gale Digital Scholar Lab platform with enhanced support for conducting and presenting digital humanities research—from idea to publication. The new “Projects” feature within Gale Digital Scholar Lab offers a guided framework to help students compile their research into a final report, and Gale Research Showcase gives early career researchers an opportunity to share their projects with a worldwide audience of Lab users and others as a first step in academic publishing. Gale, part of Cengage Group, is continuing its support of academic initiatives in diversity, equity and inclusion with the release of four new archives on the Gale Primary Sources platform. These archives unlock perspectives on interdisciplinary subjects, including the histories of LGBTQ+ communities in North America, the treatment of disabilities in society, refugeeism and relief work during the Cold War period and the environmental impact of colonial policies in Africa and Asia – all topics that represent some of the fastest-growing areas of research and teaching. Gale Group Giving the gift of literacy: Gale and San Diego Public Library rollout adult high school diploma program. As the season of giving kicks into high gear, adults in and around San Diego now have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma through their local public library. The San Diego Public Library has launched Gale Presents: Excel Adult High School, an accredited online diploma completion program from Gale, part of Cengage Group. This program is designed to help busy adults earn their high school diploma online at their own pace and convenience. Gale Group Celebrating 20 Years of ECCO: Gale-ASECS Fellows Forge New Paths in Eighteenth-Century Studies with Digital Humanities. As the Eighteenth Century Collections Online celebrates 20 years of powering higher ed research, Gale, part of Cengage Group, and the American Society of Eighteenth Century Studies (ASECS) are releasing the impact report findings of how the five scholars of the Gale-ASECS Non-Residential Fellowship program used ECCO and Gale Digital Scholar Lab (the Lab) to advance their research. Last year, each fellow received $2,500 from Gale and were given access to the Lab, a cloud-based digital humanities (DH) tool and ECCO for a period of six months. At the end of their access period, each scholar submitted a report on how they used the resources to advance their work. The goal of the fellowships is to help scholars expand the field of eighteenth-century studies for research or teaching, using DH methods to conduct their research. [Full Announcement].

Gale, part of Cengage Group, is introducing the first installment of its new Environmental History series of digitized primary sources. Environmental History: Conservation and Public Policy in America, 1870–1980 is the research market's first digital archive that examines the history of the environment and conservation efforts across the globe from the late 1800s onwards. The collection concentrates on the role of various government agencies, conservation organizations and individual actors who pioneered the study of the natural environment and campaigned for its protection. This new innovative series provides scholars and researchers with historical context on today's conservation movements from a variety of viewpoints, enabling new insights and connections about environmental efforts. The Gale-AAS Non-Residential Fellowships support research or teaching projects that rely on Gale Primary Sources and the use digital humanities (DH) methodologies. The fellowships aim to help scholars expand the fields of Asian studies for research and teaching as well as equip them with the digital skills to apply the latest DH methodologies to their work. Gale Group Gale celebrates Pride Month with LGBTQ+ fellowship projects that explore queer history using digital humanities tools. In celebration of Pride Month, Gale, part of Cengage Group, and the Committee on LGBT History are sharing the project findings of how the five recipients of the inaugural Gale-CLGBTH Non-Residential Fellowship program used Archives of Sexuality and Gender and Gale Digital Scholar Lab to further their research into LGBT history.In 2022, The five fellows were given access to Archives of Sexuality and Gender and The Lab for a period of six months. Gale Group Gale presents the CKG Foundation with charitable check to support student mental health and wellness. Gale presented the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation with a check for nearly $9,000 from the proceeds of Cameron's Collection and Cameron's Camp for Wellness on the Gale eBooks platform. The funds will further support CKG Foundation's stigma reduction and educational programs to increase students' mental health literacy, self-awareness and promote positive coping skills. The collections are sets of eBooks curated by Gale in collaboration with CKG Foundation which help students better understand their mental health and provide guidance to strengthen their social and emotional learning skills.
