Gale Group Gale Digital Scholar Lab adds new collaboration feature to support digital humanities projects in the classroom. Gale, part of Cengage Group is bringing real-time team collaboration to the Gale Digital Scholar Lab platform to support project-based learning. The company has launched a new collaboration feature called Gale Digital Scholar Lab: Groups. Developed based on feedback from Lab users, this new functionality enables researchers, instructors and students at the same institution to collaborate on digital humanities projects within the platform and explore Gale Primary Sources in new and exciting ways. Gale Group Gale Receives Platinum and Gold in 2023 Modern Library Awards from LibraryWorks for the second consecutive year. Gale, part of Cengage Group, announced that it has received five platinum awards, one gold and an honorable mention award in LibraryWorks' ninth annual Modern Library Awards. The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Gale Group University of Washington students unlock new historical connections on King Tut's Tomb using Gale Digital Scholar Lab. For the first time in nearly 100 years, scholars and the curious public can see one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century in a new light. The Tutankhamun Centenary: 1922–2022 is a website showcasing University of Washington students' groundbreaking digital humanities (DH) research to mark a century since the discovery of King Tutankhamun's (King Tut's) tomb. For the Tut Talks project, masters and undergraduate students used tools like Gale Digital Scholar Lab (The Lab) from Gale, part of Cengage Group, to create a publicly available resource from previously inaccessible collections. It includes selected private papers of Howard Carter, the British archeologist who discovered the tomb, and articles from The Times of London, the primary disseminator of information about the discovery and excavation. Gale Group Gale and TSLAC partner to provide Texans equitable access to new digital resources. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission has partnered with Gale, part of Cengage Group, to provide participating K-12 schools, public libraries and academic institutions across Texas with access to Gale digital resources through its TexShare and TexQuest e-resources sharing programs. Millions of Texans now have access to these resources. This partnership expands Gale resources within TexShare to support the recent growth of Texas families considering homeschooling for their children and students pursuing higher education in Texas community colleges and four-year academic institutions. These new resources provide Texas residents and students with reliable, high-quality content regardless of their location, age, education and financial status that supports their educational, professional and informational needs. Gale Group Gale and Boston Public Library deliver new online accredited high school completion program to adult residents. As students head back to school, adult residents in Massachusetts now have the opportunity to obtain their high school diploma from their local public library. The Boston Public Library offers Gale Presents: Excel Adult High School, an accredited online diploma completion program from Gale, part of Cengage Group. The program is designed to help busy adults who have aged out of the education system obtain their high school diploma online with the convenience of a self-paced schedule. Gale Group Gale and ASECS Award Fellowships to Five Scholars to Support Emerging Research of Eighteenth-Century Studies. Gale, part of Cengage Group, in partnership with the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, has awarded fellowships to five researchers, known as the Gale-ASECS Non-Residential Fellowships. Funded by Gale, each fellow receives $2,500 and access to Gale's Eighteenth Century Collections Online, as well as access to the Gale Digital Scholar Lab. Using The Lab, the program provides fellows with invaluable text and data mining tools to explore ECCO and advance their work using digital humanities methods. Gale Group Gale and the Bodleian Libraries continue to support Asia-Pacific research on digital humanities with second year of fellowships. To increase access to digital humanities tools and support emerging research and collaboration amongst scholars, Gale, part of Cengage Group, and Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford, announce the recipients of the second cohort of the Gale Scholar Asia Pacific, Digital Humanities Oxford Fellowships. Gale will fund the research of two scholars for three months. The fellowship seeks to support the scholars' research into a DH-related topic at the University of Oxford, using the Centre for Digital Scholarship of the Bodleian Libraries. To help foster emerging scholarship in the Asia-Pacific region, the fellows have access to the Bodleian Libraries' resources including Gale Primary Sources as well as Gale Digital Scholar Lab which provides fellows with invaluable text and data mining tools to advance their work through DH methods. Gale Group Shanghai University acquires Gale Scholar to support digital humanities growth. Shanghai University has acquired Gale Scholar from Gale, part of Cengage Group, opening up new possibilities for research and study using the expansive content and powerful search technologies of Gale Primary Sources. The resources are available to nearly 58,000 students across the university's three campuses. The university also purchased Gale Digital Scholar Lab (the Lab) as it looks to advance in the growing field of digital humanities. The Lab makes digital humanities methods available to students and researchers, enabling them to analyze and interpret large amounts of data, fostering 21st-century skills they can use post-graduation. Gale Group Gale and the Committee on LQBT History Announce Fellowships to support emerging LGBTQ+ Research. Gale, part of Cengage Group, and the Committee on LGBT History in conjunction with the Queer History Conference 2022, announce the sponsorship of five non-residential fellowships known as the Gale-CLGBTH Non-Residential Fellowships. Funded by Gale, each fellow receives $2,500 and access to Gale's award-winning Archives of Sexuality and Gender and Gale Digital Scholar Lab. These new resources are part of California's K-12 Online Content Project and are available at all schools (10k+) and public libraries (1.1k+) throughout California to support and strengthen STEAM learning.
