Manuela Gerlof and Maurits van den Boogert have been appointed De Gruyter Brill's Chief Publishing Officers in a dual leadership role, joining the Management Board. De Gruyter Paradigm Publishing Service's University Press Library embarks on a sustainable open access initiative for university press monographs. Paradigm Publishing Services, the newly founded publishing services division of academic publisher De Gruyter, is taking a significant stride forward in shaping a financially sustainable business model for open access book publishing for its partner presses. In response to the call from the scholarly community, Paradigm Publishing Services, comprising the University Press Library Group and Ubiquity in collaboration with their publishing partners and libraries, proudly announces the launch of the University Press Library Open (UPLO), a comprehensive open access initiative and eBook platform hosted by Ubiquity with a central focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. De Gruyter ResearchGate and De Gruyter announce content partnership. ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and De Gruyter, an independent academic publisher disseminating excellent scholarship since 1749, have today announced a content syndication partnership that will see content from 437 of De Gruyter's journals added to ResearchGate. With approximately 114,000 articles being syndicated on launch, representing all open access content from De Gruyter's journal portfolio, the scale of the partnership is particularly noteworthy. De Gruyter Mercury Learning and Information joins De Gruyter. De Gruyter announced the acquisition of publishing house Mercury Learning and Information. Mercury provides print and digital content in the areas of science, technology and computing, engineering, and mathematics designed for the professional/ reference, trade, library, higher education, career school, and online training markets. De Gruyter De Gruyter and Ubiquity join forces. Open research publisher and service provider Ubiquity is joining the Berlin-based academic publisher De Gruyter. Moving forward, the two companies will work together closely to advance both publishers' mission to make academic research globally accessible and discoverable by offering excellent publishing services. By acquiring and investing in Ubiquity, De Gruyter will grow its existing open access and service business further and help the Ubiquity team reach their goals as an open research publisher and provider of open publishing services. As part of De Gruyter, Ubiquity will continue pursuing its mission to make quality open access publishing affordable and retain a high degree of independence to do so. De Gruyter Georg Nold joins De Gruyter as Chief Technology Officer. Georg Nold joins De Gruyter as Chief Technology Officer. Georg possesses many years of experience at the intersection of digital technology and publishing. In 2002, he joined Springer Nature as IT Team Leader. He delivered digital projects in Berlin, Dordrecht and Pune before moving on to lead the technical development of SpringerLink in London. In 2017, Georg joined Heise Medien, a leading publisher for IT specialist information in the DACH region, as Chief Technology Officer. [Full Announcement].

De Gruyter The Max Planck Society and De Gruyter sign an agreement to share bibliographical references. The Max Planck Society, which runs a large number of research institutes throughout Germany and beyond, and academic publisher De Gruyter have reached an agreement to share bibliographical data. Under the agreement De Gruyter will provide the Max Planck Society with bibliographical records for all of its past and future publications on language and linguistics. For its part, the Max Planck Society will incorporate these records into Glottolog, an open access database of the world's languages which contains a comprehensive bibliography. A link will be provided within each reference on Glottolog to the publication’s page on De Gruyter Online, De Gruyter’s integrated platform. [Full Announcement].
