The ISO working group ISO TC46/SC4/WG14 Interlibrary Loan Transactions has finalized the adjustments following the DIS vote. On 23 April 2021, the editor group sent the final version of ISO 18626:2021 to ISO for publication.
When 18626:2021 is published, the web site http://illtransactions.org/ will be updated with a 2021 version of the XML schema and a 2021 version of Open Codes.
CILLT will send out a newsletter when ISO 18626:2021 Interlibrary Loan Transactions is published.
CILLT publishes statutes
The creation of CILLT - Centre for Interlibrary Loan Transactions is progressing. The Joint Committee approved the CILLT statutes, which have been published at the web site http://illtransactions.org/statutes.html.
The purpose of the CILLT is:
- To encourage the use of ISO 18626 Information and documentation - Interlibrary Loan Transactions.
- To represent the international community for ISO 18626.
- To support the implementation of ISO 18626 with use cases, maintenance of http://illtransactions.org/, the mailing list, and other relevant initiatives.
- To handle stakeholder involvement in future development of ISO 18626.
The statutes define the structure of CILLT with an Editorial Committee as leadership of CILLT and two Advisory Committees – Library and Implementers – which together act as Joint Committee.
CILLT open up for membership
CILLT opens up for membership after approval of the statutes. CILLT invites both libraries and implementers to join CILLT as members.
In particular, the Editorial Committee hopes to attract more libraries to join, so the development of use cases and guidelines can be based on a broader basis of experience. This will also be an important step in support implementation of ISO 18626 in library systems – and support a higher level of the libraries ILL work.
There are no fees for CILLT membership.
To sign up for membership send an e-mail to iso18626ill@gmail.com with the name of the library or implementer, the web site, the official e-mail and the name and e-mail of the contact person.
