Cambridge University Press to join with Cambridge Assessment. Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment publish and create world-leading content and examinations that are used across more than 170 countries. The move is in response to a growing desire from learners, teachers and researchers to engage with Cambridge in a joined up digital way, and the demand for innovative products that combine expertise in learning and assessment. The need for an integrated approach has been accelerated by the rapid uptake of digital education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new organisation will have the capabilities to provide world leading assessment, learning and academic research offerings globally, under the Cambridge brand and backed by first class teaching and research departments. Press reaches Open Access agreement with Spanish National Research Council. Cambridge University Press has reached a transformative Open Access agreement with the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC). The three-year ‘read and publish’ deal is the first such agreement between a university press and Spanish research institutions, and the first that Cambridge University Press has signed in southern Europe. Cambridge University Press and UNSILO partner to deliver AI-based related links. Cambridge University Press, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious academic publishers, and UNSILO, Denmark-based AI company, today signed an agreement by which UNSILO will use machine-learning tools to identify related content across around one million journal articles and book chapters from the vast Cambridge corpus. Cambridge University Press reaches major Open Access agreement with Max Planck Society. Cambridge University Press has reached a major Open Access agreement with Germany’s Max Planck Society. This builds on the ‘read and publish’ agreement coordinated by the Bavarian State Library (Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, BSB) with financial support from the German Research Foundation. The three-year ‘read and publish’ agreement will advance on the traditional subscription model, uniting reading access and open access publishing under one, centrally-administered agreement. Cambridge University Press partners with AJE to launch new language editing service for authors. Cambridge University Press has today announced the launch of a new author services website for 2017, in partnership with world-leading author services company American Journal Experts. The site will offer language editing for prospective authors who are writing in English as a second language. Authors will be able to purchase services and submit their manuscripts for editing within the site. Editing services from experts in the author’s field of study will then be delivered by AJE, using their rigorous paper matching and quality control procedures. [Full Announcement].
