The transaction creates the leading academic publisher in the Humanities and presents a unique opportunity to accelerate organic growth and achieve necessary scale. With pro forma combined revenues of around EUR 134 million and 750 employees, the combination will be well-positioned to offer the best possible service and infrastructure to its communities. The combination will jointly publish well over 3,500 books and 800 journals per year. The enlarged scale will accelerate a transition to Open Access, finance investments in technology for end-to-end workflows and a cutting-edge market-facing (content) platform. Furthermore, it will enable the company to face market challenges, allow more effective sales & marketing and increase the ability to attract and retain talent. Brill renews Transformative Agreement with Jisc in the UK for the period 2023-2024. Brill announced that it has renewed its Transformative Agreement with Jisc in the UK for 2023-2024. Brill is one of the leading academic publishers in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Biology, with a broad Open Access portfolio consisting of more than 1,100 books and several thousand journal articles. The agreement with Jisc is a two-year agreement covering 2023-2024, and is open to all eligible UK university libraries and academic-related Jisc affiliate members, as well as Scottish Higher Education Digital Library consortium members. Management change at Brill. Brill, the international academic publisher, announces today that its CEO John Martin has resigned, to pursue other opportunities in the market for education technology in schools. After his appointment in September 2022 he has worked closely with the leadership team at Brill in mitigating business disruption and setting up new fulfilment capabilities for the company following the sudden administration and cessation of trading of Brill's main distributor, announced on 28th September. Brill's 2022 results affected by potential administration of its main distributor. Brill's main distributor, Turpin, has informed Brill that it has filed a notice of intent to appoint an administrator. Turpin provides fulfilment services to part of Brill's journal and book portfolio. On 30th August Brill announced a transition to new partners for its worldwide distribution of books and journals during 2023. An administration of the current distributor is expected to result in disruptions to ongoing print book sales and delays to the 2023 journals renewal season. This would particularly impact the important Q4 period and Q1 2023, until alternatives have been put in place. [Full Announcement].
