Developed by staff at the Colorado State University (CSU) Libraries, RapidILL’s flagship product, also named RapidILL, serves more than 330 institutions, which benefit from a fast, cost-effective request and delivery service for interlibrary loans. RapidILL will continue to offer its current solutions, with support from Ex Libris. At the same time, the two organizations will work together to significantly enrich resource-sharing services for the academic library market.

(ProQuest) ProQuest and Atairos, an independent private company focused on supporting growth-oriented businesses, announced that Atairos will acquire an ownership position in ProQuest. ProQuest will use the proceeds from the transaction to repurchase most of the shares owned by entities affiliated with the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs, which will retain a minority interest in the Company. Cambridge Information Group will maintain its majority ownership of ProQuest. CIG has been the majority owner of ProQuest since 2007, overseeing a period of growth through new product innovation and strategic acquisitions that have helped ProQuest customers respond to changing environments.

The transaction is expected to close on or around May 31, 2019, subject to customary closing and regulatory condition. Knewton has developed an advanced learning system demonstrated to deliver highly-personalized learning experiences that drive superior outcomes. The Company’s Alta courseware platform delivers high-quality, Open Educational Resource (OER) content to more than 300 colleges and universities, with course offerings in key subject areas, including math, chemistry and economics. The acquisition of the Alta platform, combined with Wiley’s reach, will accelerate Wiley’s position in the rapidly-growing, affordable courseware market.
