(BARATZ) La Red de Bibliotecas Públicas de Andalucía (RBPA) y la Red de Centros de Documentación y Bibliotecas Especializadas de Andalucía (Red IDEA) evolucionan a AbsysNet 2.2. (OCLC) OCLC is partnering with the Couperin.org Consortium, the French non-profit that developed ezPAARSE software with the CNRS Institute for Scientific Information, to enhance OCLC’s EZproxy authentication software with analytics features and to expand the use of ezPAARSE outside of France.

(Springer) A new pilot project by Springer Nature and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) enables researchers to make their research datasets accessible alongside their published articles. From February 2019, all authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication by npj Breast Cancer will be reviewed by a Research Data Editor who is responsible for cataloguing, describing and sharing the datasets that accompany the research paper.

(NISO) The National Information Standards Organization and National Federation of Advanced Information Services have announced a proposed combination, designed to better serve their members, during a time of rapid change. The respective boards of NISO and NFAIS have unanimously approved moving ahead with the merger proposal, which is conditional on NFAIS member approval. The merged entity sees significant opportunities for enriched and invigorated programming, delivered in a more efficient and innovative way, to the combined group's 250-plus members.

(Ithaka) Reveal Digital has joined the ITHAKA family. Reveal Digital is a small innovative company that uses a unique library crowd-funded model to support the development of open digital collections. In partnership with libraries, Reveal Digital raises funds to digitize, clear rights and make available special collections that have been aggregated from universities and other institutions. Now affiliated with ITHAKA, Reveal Digital will continue to provide an open access publishing model for special collections where libraries drive the program.
