(Ex Libris) La Open University de Reino Unido ha decidido implantar el gestor de recursos Alma juntamente con la herramienta de discovery Primo con el fin de contar con un potente sistema unificado. Además, la universidad también ha añadido al conjunto la herramienta bX® Recommender, un servicio que muestra recomendaciones de artículos basadas en los datos de uso de millones de usuarios de todo el mundo. La integración de los productos para la gestión de los recursos de la biblioteca les va a permitir cumplir su compromiso de satisfacer las necesidades de sus usuarios ahora y en el futuro.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that The Open University in the UK has selected the Ex Libris Alma library management service and the Primo discovery and delivery solution to provide unified resource management and discovery. The Open University also selected the bX Recommender, a user-facing service that presents article recommendations based on the usage data of millions of users around the world. This suite of integrated products will support the library’s commitment to ensuring that its technology framework meets the needs of users both now and in the future.

(EBSCO Information Services) After trying two other discovery solutions, Open University of Cyprus has made the switch to EBSCO Discovery Service, the discovery solution from EBSCO Information Services. EBSCO was able to deliver the service and support the university was looking for as well as provide unique customization options and a fully integrated solution.

(VTLS, Inc.) Wawasan Open University, Malaysia, has selected VITAL for its Digital Asset Management System. VITAL will be used to store and manage the digital resources and documentation from various departments in the university. WOU, which installed Virtua in 2006, contracted for VITAL to manage digitized documents such as minutes of meetings, circulars, reports, policies, course programs, legal documents and their own publications. Access to the repository is secured, as some documents are for internal use only.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the Stanley Ho Library of the Open University of Hong Kong has acquired a suite of Ex Libris products: the Aleph integrated library system, the MetaLib gateway and metasearch portal, the SFX OpenURL link resolver, and the Primo discovery and delivery solution, which will provide a unified interface for the Library’s entire collection.

(Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) The Consortium of Catalonian University Libraries in Barcelona, Spain selected the Millennium integrated library solution. The nine-member group is migrating from a VTLS Classic system. The member organizations include: Autonomous University of Barcelona, Barcelona University, Catalonia Technical University, Girona University, Lleida University, The National Library of Catalonia, Open University of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University, and Rovira and Virgili University.

These sales continue to expand VTLS'' presence in Asia over the past 12 months, stretching from the Arabian Gulf to the South China Sea. In addition to expanding the already substantial customer bases in Malaysia, Thailand, and India, VTLS opened two new markets with sales to three major universities in Vietnam and two government libraries in Oman.

ENCompass will provide resource management and discovery options to accompany the University’s 2000 purchase of the Voyager integrated library management system.

Endeavor Information Systems announced that The Open University, based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom has selected the Voyager integrated library management system. The library will use Voyager to supply its 180,000 students, 13 regional offices and 7,000 associate lecturers with integrated access, via an easy-to-use Web interface, to its electronic resources as well as to the catalogues of its own and other libraries. Voyager replaces the Libertas system at the Open University Library.
