(ProQuest) The library at Liverpool John Moores University – a leading research university in the U.K. – has selected ProQuest One Academic as a single solution to improve research, teaching and learning outcomes for faculty and students.

(ProQuest) Western Sydney University announced the extension of its partnership with ProQuest to offset one major piece of that cost – textbooks. Through WSU’s digital textbook program, all 10,000 first-year students at the university’s 10 teaching campuses located across the Western Sydney region in Australia receive access to textbooks through Ebook Central, ProQuest’s ebook platform. More than 200 titles from 60 leading academic publishers are available electronically at no cost to students via the WSU library.

(ProQuest) A cinematic visual experience, intuitive design, innovative search, and recommendation capabilities are now available to faculty and students who use video on ProQuest’s Alexander Street platform. ProQuest announced the launch of a new interface for its Alexander Street streaming video products, including Academic Video Online, the world’s largest academically focused streaming video collection. The new interface is simpler and faster with a continued focus on content and features for the academic market – including on-screen transcripts, clip-making abilities and single-sign-on technology for seamless use with learning management systems.

(ProQuest) More than 450 documentaries, interviews and special films originally released by CNN are now available to academic libraries through the Academic Video Online streaming video collection, marking the first time CNN content is available in a video database for the library market.

(ProQuest) More than 34,000 ebooks from Project MUSE, focused on humanities and social sciences, are now available for title-by-title purchase in the OASIS platform. These Project MUSE ebooks are all digital rights management -free – which means users can access them from any personal device or reader without download, print or copy/paste restrictions.

(ProQuest) Librarians can now order print book titles directly from the Alma library services platform, thanks to a new integration between Alma and OASIS, ProQuest’s search, selection, and ordering system. Alma users have the option to search the extensive OASIS catalog, check book prices, and execute an order – all without leaving the Alma interface.

(ProQuest) An expanded agreement between ProQuest and BBC Learning, a division of BBC Studios, was announced . It gives libraries access to thousands of additional BBC Studios titles through the Academic Video Online subscription, the world’s largest streaming video subscription service curated for education. BBC Learning distributes some of the most popular video content in the academic space.

(ProQuest) The American University of Beirut, an esteemed teaching-centered research university in Lebanon and the Middle East, has signed an agreement to contribute its graduate works to the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses database, the leading database of dissertations and theses from the world’s greatest universities. It’s the first university in Lebanon to contribute to the database, expanding the breadth of international content in PQDT.

(ProQuest) According to the latest report from ProQuest affiliate Bowker, self-publishing grew at a rate of more than 28 percent in 2017, up from an 8 percent increase during the prior year. The total number of self-published titles grew from 786,935 to 1,009,188, surpassing the million mark for the first time.
