(Follett) Saskatchewan’s Regina Catholic School Division has been named the Grand Prize winner of the 2019 Follett Challenge, marking the first time a school or district from outside the United States has claimed the top spot in the contest, now in its ninth year.

(Follett) For the first time in the eight-year history of the Follett Challenge, a school from outside the United States has been named one of the contest’s three Semifinalists, making it eligible for the Grand Prize. In a video announcement, Follett Challenge organizers today announced Regina Catholic School Division in Saskatchewan is the middle school Semifinalist, joining a New York elementary school and Illinois high school.

(Follett) Fujitsu Consulting announced it has been named the Preferred Vendor for the Student Information System and Services initiative through the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace and will deliver Follett’s Aspen Student Information System and related services to district school boards across Ontario. Fujitsu is partnering with Follett of Canada to set up and manage the SIS software application, delivery environment and integrated platform with either Software-as-a-Service or on-premise solutions, leveraging Follett’s Aspen platform in all cases.

The deadline to enter is 1 p.m. EST Friday, Dec. 14, and there are vast resources available on the website (www.FollettChallenge.com) to help entrants get started or complete the process.

In addition to winning $60,000 in Follett products and/or services, the winning school will receive a personal visit from Kwame Alexander, one of the country’s most acclaimed and innovative children’s book authors, as part of the award celebration.
