(Springer) Springer Nature has launched a one-year pilot with PaperHive, a market-leading annotation system and copyright-compliant collaborative research platform. The partnership focuses on increasing reader engagement of university students with academic literature in various fields including biomedicine, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The pilot phase comprises books and textbooks from Springer and Springer Spektrum, the leading publisher for classical and digital educational media in the field of natural sciences and mathematics in the German-speaking region.

Innovative announced that Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, has selected the Sierra integrated library system and the Encore Duet discovery layer for the Eli M. Oboler Library and satellite locations. From certificate-level to post-graduate, the libraries at ISU support information needs for a substantial 250 academic programs, serving over 13,000 students. Including government documents, the entire university collection holds nearly one million items.

(Insight Informatics) Central Coast Library Services has become LIBERO’s largest hosted solution in LIBERO Cloud, following the merge between Gosford and Wyong Councils. Central Coast Council now consists of 11 branches, 2 community libraries and a Bookmobile covering 1,600km2 with a population of around 330,000, making it LIBERO’s largest Cloud based customer.
(Springer) Effective 17 October 2017, the international publisher Springer Nature acquired the e-learning provider iversity. iversity is a leading platform for e-learning and MOOCs, and collaborates with over one hundred universities, educational institutes and companies worldwide. The acquisition of the online platform will allow Springer Nature to globally expand the dissemination of its authors’ educational and research content with the aid of innovative formats.

Available to academic libraries through ProQuest, this fully streaming, primary-source archive includes more than 55,000 interviews with survivors of and witnesses to some of humanity’s most serious and solemn events, including the European Holocaust, the Nanjing, Rwandan, Cambodian, and Guatemalan genocides and contemporary antisemitism. Access to the Visual History Archive enriches the University’s growing Holocaust education and research program.

(Follett) In its continuing effort to serve the growing makerspace movement, Follett announced today it will sell a selection of LEGO Education solutions. These solutions will be offered by Follett specifically for school librarians in the U.S. who are interested in establishing a makerspace in their library.
