(Ex Libris) Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that its Research Professional Funding Insight service has added five sources to the database of awarded research grants.

(Gale Group) The Office of Commonwealth Libraries has partnered with Gale, a Cengage company, to provide more than 2,600 public, school (K-12) and intermediate unit libraries throughout Pennsylvania with free access to Gale digital resources through POWER Library, the state’s electronic library. These new resources provide Pennsylvania residents, students and teachers with reliable, high-quality content that supports their educational, professional and informational needs.

(OCLC) OCLC has partnered with Knovel to automate subscription management workflows, eliminating the need for manual intervention by library staff.

(Elsevier) The Norwegian consortium for higher education and research organized by Unit,and global information analytics business Elsevier today agreed to a pilot national license, providing Norwegian researchers with access to global academic research while making Norwegian research accessible through open access publishing. The agreement is the result of close cooperation between the Norwegian research community and Elsevier.

(ByWater Solutions) ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced that Point Park University Library in Pennsylvania is now live on Koha with ByWater Solutions! ByWater completed the transition of the library’s 70,000 plus holdings from Sierra ILS and is providing ongoing support services to the library.

(Digital Public Library of America) The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), The New York Public Library (NYPL), and LYRASIS are pleased to announce a new collaboration to help provide all public libraries with a free, open, library-controlled platform for managing their ebook and audiobook services. Through this newly-established collaboration, DPLA, NYPL, and LYRASIS will each offer core services and tools that, in combination, will provide public libraries across the United States with a full-service pathway to acquire and deliver ebooks and audiobooks through a library-controlled marketplace and platform.

(LibLynx) Emerald Publishing is partnering with us in developing their new Emerald Insight digital research platform. We’ll be powering authentication and identity management across a broad range of use cases as well as providing COUNTER-compliant reporting.

(ProQuest) Western Sydney University announced the extension of its partnership with ProQuest to offset one major piece of that cost – textbooks. Through WSU’s digital textbook program, all 10,000 first-year students at the university’s 10 teaching campuses located across the Western Sydney region in Australia receive access to textbooks through Ebook Central, ProQuest’s ebook platform. More than 200 titles from 60 leading academic publishers are available electronically at no cost to students via the WSU library.

(Patron Point) Patron Point announced the selection of its patron relationship management system by the Hauppauge Public Library of Hauppauge, NY to help drive its patron engagement and web marketing efforts.

(ByWater Solutions) ByWater Solutions announced that the Decatur Public Library in Alabama is now live on Koha with ByWater Solutions! ByWater completed the transition of the library’s 96,000 plus holdings from TLC ILS and is providing ongoing support services to the library.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that The University of Manchester Library has selected the Ex Libris Leganto reading list solution to help the University realize its 2020 vision for achieving an outstanding learning and student experience. The Ex Libris Leganto solution will replace Talis Aspire software and will be integrated with the University’s Ex Libris Alma library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery tool.

(Koios) Koios, the company that helps libraries show up first in Google results, has achieved the designation of Google Ad Grants Certified Professional. This means Koios has been fully certified by Google itself as an official partner that specializes in helping nonprofits win and manage Google Ad Grants.

(Overdrive) A study released by Rakuten OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform for libraries worldwide, reveals that technology has helped Americans find more opportunities to consume books. The shift towards digital content has allowed readers to continue to enjoy books anytime, anywhere on any device – even despite constant demands for attention from the outside world. The study found that over the past year, 43 percent of respondents have read ebooks and 34 percent of respondents have listened to audiobooks – and 87 percent of those respondents are consuming audiobooks while doing other activities.

(Follett) Education leaders Bill Bass and Shannon McClintock Miller have collaborated on a new book for K-12 school librarians designed to show them their full potential to empower their schools, students and communities, and how they can collaborate to create positive change. “Leading from the Library: Help Your School Community Thrive in the Digital Age” is published by ISTE and available now for purchase.
