(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the Ex Libris Esploro research services platform will now be available to all Esploro development partners. The first release of Esploro represents an important phase in the development of a unified research platform that will lead to broader impact of research output, greater productivity, and increased collaboration. Esploro development partners are already beginning to implement the first release, which supports the deposit and management of several research data types, as well as streamlined metadata handling that enables libraries, research offices, and researchers to work together on research projects.

(Springer) Springer has launched the Polar Platform, a unique platform dedicated to research in polar sciences. The platform aims at developing a comprehensive collection of books, open access publications, journal articles and reference works published as part of Springer’s polar sciences programme. It also features interviews with leading researchers in this field and provides an overview of publication options.

(OCLC) The University of Bristol has selected OCLC Sustainable Collection Services (SCS) to help manage their print monographs as they transform their library space.

(Preservica) Digital preservation specialist Preservica announced the latest version (v5.10) of its market-leading active digital preservation and access platform. The fully supported and maintained single platform is available across Preservica’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and on-premise portfolio including Cloud Edition Essentials, Cloud Edition Professional and Enterprise Private Cloud.

(Overdrive) Libby, the award-winning eBook, audiobook, and magazine app from Rakuten OverDrive, is growing in use by over 30% each month and now serves millions of readers from our nation’s libraries. It has achieved widespread acclaim for its ease of use and access to more library collections than all other apps. Libby was awarded a 2017 Google Play ‘Best New App of the Year’ award and earned a #1 Apple App Store rating for books and library in May of 2018.

(The Library Corporation) The Library Corporation announced that The Library Network, a coalition of 50 public libraries in Southeast Michigan, has migrated to TLC’s CARL.X ILS. The Library Network used SirsiDynix Symphony as their ILS for the past 15 years. However, TLC’s success with large library systems—and reputation to treat customers as partners—convinced TLN stakeholders, who unanimously agreed to make TLC their ILS provider for the future.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris gibt bekannt, dass 13 Mitglieder des Österreichischen Bibliothekenverbundes (OBV) und der Österreichischen Bibliothekenverbund und Service GmbH (OBVSG) ihre Verbunddatenbank erfolgreich in eine Network Zone der Bibliotheksdienstplattform Ex Libris Alma® migriert haben. Diese Zone dient als Katalogisierungssystem für alle OBV-Mitglieder, einschließlich derer, die das System Ex Libris Aleph® oder Ex Libris Alephino einsetzen, bis diese zur Alma-Plattform migriert wurden. Die Migration wird voraussichtlich 2021 abgeschlossen sein.

(ProQuest) ProQuest has added support for two new Google Scholar features, giving academic researchers round-the-clock access to scholarly full-text articles and graduate works from anywhere in the world.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that 13 members of the Österreichische Bibliothekenverbund (Austrian Library Network, or OBV) and the Österreichische Bibliothekenverbund und Service GmbH (Austrian Library Network and Service, or OBVSG), have successfully migrated their federated database to a network zone of the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform. This zone will serve as the cataloging system for all OBV members, including those running the Ex Libris Aleph or Ex Libris Alephino® system, until the latter have migrated to the Alma platform. The migration is expected to be completed in 2021.

(ByWater Solutions) ByWater Solutions announced that the University Libraries at Virginia Tech are now live on Koha with ByWater Solutions. ByWater completed the transition of the library's 1.5 million plus holdings from Sierra earlier this month and will be providing ongoing support and hosting services to the library. The University Libraries have also be implemented the Coral ERM through ByWater and the Ebsco Discovery Service to work alongside Koha for a unified Library Management System that allows students to easily find all of the resources needed in one interface. The University Libraries at Virginia Tech are the first R1 research libraries to adopt Koha as their LMS and marks a turning point for the Koha project in terms of large scale academic library adoption.

(ProQuest) Researchers who use ProQuest’s industry-leading Ebook Central platform will soon be able to download more than 100,000 DRM-free full books and DRM-free chapters from nearly 1 million books for access on any device. The move is part of ProQuest’s ongoing commitment to improve usability and remove obstacles to access.

(Equinox) Equinox announced the successful migration of Emmaus Public Library to Evergreen within the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System, (PaILS) SPARK Consortium.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the University of Cergy-Pontoise (UCP) in Paris, a leading international university, has selected the Ex Libris campusM mobile platform to enhance communication and services for students and staff across its six campuses. The platform will enable the university to deliver dynamic, personalized content and apps on smartphones, tablets, and web browsers.
