(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Service is providing grants to four academic libraries as part of the EBSCO FOLIO Innovation Challenge. The grant program is awarding up to $100,000 in grants to libraries to develop innovative technology solutions that address the challenges academic libraries face. The second round’s winning proposals came from the University of Alabama, the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, the Johns Hopkins University and Lehigh University.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Health announced the launch of a shared decision making product, Option Grid decision aids. The Option Grid concept was originally created by Professors Glyn Elwyn and Marie-Anne Durand in 2010 and supported by work and research done at Dartmouth College. EBSCO Health is working with Professors Elwyn and Durand to deliver a product that is accessible and, powered by DynaMed Plus, always aligned with the most recent evidence.

(EBSCO Information Services) A new relationship between EBSCO Information Services and Infoestratégica Latina is designed to ensure that libraries adopting the FOLIO Library Services Platform will be able to rely on hosting and services support. The agreement secures Infoestrategica’s pledge to provide FOLIO application and support services backed by EBSCO hosting technology and data services.

(EBSCO Information Services) OpenDissertations.org, the project from EBSCO Information Services and BiblioLabs, has gone live. More than 800,000 Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) are now available for public search and discovery, with more than one million expected by June.

(EBSCO Information Services) The GALILEO consortium is making the research experience easier for their library users by implementing federated single sign-on access, enabling end users to sign-on once into any resource from the site or within Discovery. GALILEO has entered into a five-year agreement with EBSCO Information Services and OpenAthens providing single sign-on software that allows the end user to move from resource to resource without re-entering their credentials. The software delivers all of GALILEO’s library resources to its 10 million users by simply having them sign in via a single login.

In 2016, we introduced the EBSCO Solar Grant and to date we have given nearly half a million dollars to libraries looking to install solar arrays on their campuses. This year, EBSCO Solar will fund three $100,000 grants.
