(EBSCO Information Services) As part of our commitment to ”Going Green,” we want to encourage libraries to reevaluate their own environmental footprints. In 2016, we introduced the EBSCO Solar Grant and to date we have given nearly half a million dollars to libraries looking to install solar arrays on their campuses. This year, EBSCO Solar will fund three $100,000 grants.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services will continue its commitment to helping libraries with sustainability efforts by bringing back an enhanced version of its EBSCO Solar grant program for 2018. As part of the EBSCO Solar initiative, EBSCO is soliciting grant applications to give libraries the opportunity to “go green” by funding solar installations. EBSCO has expanded the program for 2018 and is making three $100,000 grants available to applicants.

(EBSCO Information Services) Two EBSCO Health clinical resources were named among the top performing point-of-care reference tools in the 2018 Best in KLAS: Software and Services report. KLAS, a research firm that specializes in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare vendors, found that Nursing Reference Center Plus™ and DynaMed Plus® were among the top performing clinical decision support – point of care clinical reference tools, with Nursing Reference Center Plus ranked number one and DynaMed Plus coming in as a close second.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services has awarded five librarians, including two first-time attendees, $1,500 scholarships to attend the 2018 ALA Midwinter Meeting, February 9th-13th in Denver, Colorado. The scholarships are co-sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA). The scholarship recipients will be honored by EBSCO and ALA representatives at a breakfast during the conference.

The resource, produced by Le Répertoire international de la presse musicale (RIPM), provides music and musical history researchers access to unique primary source music journals with a vast array of international coverage.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Health, the provider of evidence-based clinical resource tools including DynaMed Plus® and Dynamic Health™, has appointed Eileen Yoshida, BScPhm, MBA, as Deputy Editor, Medication and Clinical Informatics. Yoshida brings more than 25 years of extensive experience in clinical informatics, EHR implementation, healthcare consulting and clinical pharmacy, and is a published author and speaker on clinical decision support.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services and the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) announce a new offering, ATLASerials PLUS, and the enhancement of their existing offering, ATLA Religion Database. Both resources are available via EBSCO’s EBSCOhost platform.

(EBSCO Information Services) Music researchers and enthusiasts can now access rare music periodicals not available elsewhere online or in libraries, with the release of RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals with Full Text from EBSCO Information Services. The collection, produced by Le Répertoire international de la presse musicale (RIPM), explores music and musical life over a span of over 200 years from Bach to Bernstein, as seen through the eyes of those who lived it.

As a touchstone for the global academic library community, Chalmers Library will prove out FOLIO’s ability to satisfy traditional resource management requirements while allowing for extensibility into new services based on a vibrant new technology ecosystem for libraries.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services and BiblioLabs have announced the launch of a collaborative open access initiative dedicated to advancing library and industry innovation related to electronic theses and dissertations. OpenDissertations.org, is committed to facilitating open and free access to ETD metadata and content. In addition to the fully open website, EBSCO will include EDT metadata in EBSCO Discovery Service to facilitate access and improve content discovery.

(EBSCO Information Services) Libraries can now enhance their special collections with digital backfiles for two leading magazines, U.S News and World Report and Esquire, through EBSCO Information Services. The new magazine archives, U.S. News & World Report Magazine Archive and Esquire Magazine Archive include cover to cover processing, which means each issue is presented in its entirety as originally published.

(EBSCO Information Services) Submissions are now being accepted for the second annual SEE-IT Award. SEE-IT stands for Stories Engagingly Expressed-Illustratively Told. The SEE-IT Award is an annual book award given in partnership by EBSCO Information Services and the Graphic Novel Committee of the Children’s Book Council to honor the outstanding achievements of authors and illustrators in youth graphic novels. Publishers are encouraged to submit titles for award consideration by March 9, 2018.
