(Ingram Content Group) Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, one of Ingram Content Groups distribution brands, announces eight new publishers for the Spring 2019 season: Beehive Books, Braun Publishing, Floating World Comics, Green Card Voices, Inhabit Media, Lookout Books, Nightboat Books, and Tiny Owl Publishing. All presses begin distribution with Consortium on January 1, 2019.

(Ingram Content Group) Ingram Publisher Services, an Ingram brand, announces the addition of three new technical and professional publisher clients to its sales and distribution network including: Hanser Publications, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, and International Society for Technology in Education. Ingram Publisher Services will handle all distribution activities for these client publishers including warehousing, invoicing and collection, customer service and data management, and will provide sales representation to Amazon. In addition, IPS will handle sales representation to Baker and Taylor and Follett for IET and ISTE.

(Ingram Content Group) Heyday, publisher of such best-selling titles as The California Field Atlas by Obi Kaufmann and The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling by John Muir Laws, announces that beginning in January 2019 its books will be sold and distributed to the trade by Publishers Group West, an Ingram Publisher Services LLC brand, beginning with its Fall/Winter 2018 season. Heyday has signed a multi-year global distribution deal for print and e-books with Publishers Group West. Heyday was previously represented regionally by Book Travelers West.

(Ingram Content Group) VitalSource announced today it will simplify courseware integrations by removing barriers to access for students and instructors and streamlining administrative setup for institutions. Beginning this month, VitalSource will pilot these new integrations with Pearson, the largest higher education publisher in North America, offering seamless access to MyLabs, Mastering, and Revel courseware products for students and instructors via a single integration.

(Ingram Content Group) The high cost of textbooks is forcing an overwhelming majority of college students to delay or avoid purchasing required postsecondary course materials. According to a new study conducted by Wakefield Research on behalf of VitalSource®, 85 percent of U.S. college students admit they have either postponed buying required materials or chosen not to buy them at all. Almost all (92%) the students who delayed or skipped buying textbooks cited costs as the reason for their decision.

(Ingram Content Group) A study released today by Blackboard, VitalSource, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) finds that engagement with digital learning tools can better predict student success than incoming GPA. The study found that students at UMBC who are highly engaged with digital learning tools were 200% more likely to pass their courses than less active students. Specifically, incoming C students with low engagement had a 37% likelihood of passing a class while similar students exhibiting the highest level of engagement with Blackboard Learn and/or VitalSource had a more than 90% likelihood of passing a class.
