(Tech Logic) In partnership with Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, Tech Logic completed the installation of a seven-bin Automated Materials Handling system ahead of schedule at the new Madison Public Library. The library selected a Tech Logic UltraSort Automated Materials Handling system featuring both internal and external drive-up "throw and go" book drops and ergonomic SmartBins. Customizations included a small, 7-degree turn to the internal drop, to accommodate an angled wall. A subtle but elegant job of trimming and positioning purpose-built steel fit the planned space perfectly.

(Demco) A newly published 10-year study funded by the National Institute of Health shows that brain training software offered exclusively to libraries by Demco Software reduced the risk of dementia. The online speed training exercise used in the study is now available through hundreds of public libraries, which offer free subscriptions to BrainHQ for their patrons through Demco Software’s user-friendly platform.

(ProQuest) Academic libraries are struggling to meet a rising demand for non-English language content, according to new survey results published by ProQuest. Rising international student enrollments and the popularity of programs that use foreign language content are increasing the importance of foreign language materials in library collections, yet more than a third of respondents say they are falling short in making these resources available to students, faculty and researchers.

(Eduserv) A 2017 insights paper examining challenges and solutions around authentication andaccess in global pharmaceutical companies is now available.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services and the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) announce a new offering, ATLASerials PLUS, and the enhancement of their existing offering, ATLA Religion Database. Both resources are available via EBSCO’s EBSCOhost platform.

(The Library Corporation) The Library Corporation has announced the availability of their latest ound of development for the CARL product line with the release of CARL.X v9.5.2, CARL.Connect v1.4.4, CARL.Connect Discovery v3.3.5, and CARL APIs v1.9.1.

(ProQuest) Siteabook, a social community for reading enthusiasts is turning to Bowker to connect them with metadata that will enhance their users’ online experience. Bowker is a ProQuest affiliate and acts as the retail agent for ProQuest’s renowned metadata.

(EBSCO Information Services) Music researchers and enthusiasts can now access rare music periodicals not available elsewhere online or in libraries, with the release of RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals with Full Text from EBSCO Information Services. The collection, produced by Le Répertoire international de la presse musicale (RIPM), explores music and musical life over a span of over 200 years from Bach to Bernstein, as seen through the eyes of those who lived it.

(Equinox) Equinox announced that Cherokee County Public Library successfully migrated to Evergreen within the SC Lends Consortium. This migration includes more than 32,000 users and over 95,000 bibliographic records. For the migration, Equinox performed the bibliographic data extraction and deduplication, policy configuration, project management and training services. As part of the SC LENDS consortium, Cherokee County Public Library is hosted and supported by Equinox on their industry leading Sequoia platform.

(Talis) Following a formal tendering process, James Cook University has selected Talis Aspire to manage and deliver its online reading lists service with integrated copyright management.
