(LibLime) LibLime, a Division of PTFS, has been selected by South Central Library System (SCLS) as the winning vendor to implement the Bibliovation Library Services Platform after a lengthy and competitive review of industry LSP’s. LibLime responded to SCLS’s technical requirements with a comprehensive functional response, on-site demonstration and a compelling cost proposal which has resulted in a contract award. LibLime will provide development, migration and continued support services to SCLS. LibLime and PTFS specialists will work closely with SLCS staff to continue to upgrade their current LibLime system.

(OCLC) OCLC, working closely with the Center for Research Libraries, has been awarded an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant to enhance the underlying infrastructure of the OCLC WorldCat database and CRL’s Print Archives Preservation Registry to accommodate and make accessible actionable data for shared print serials management.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the University of New Hampshire has chosen the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. The UNH Library is the 11th member of the Boston Library Consortium to adopt the Alma and Primo solutions.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that Drexel University, one of the 15 largest private universities in the United States, has opted to become an early adopter of the Ex Libris Esploro research services platform. The Esploro solution will broaden the impact of Drexel’s research output and maximize the efficiency of managing research data and publications for global discovery and access through a campus-wide partnership led by the Libraries.

(ProQuest) While peer-reviewed journals remain an essential resource, faculty and students are depending on a wide variety of content types including primary sources, dissertations, videos, and more for success in research and teaching. A recent ProQuest survey confirmed this trend and provides insight into the reasons why today’s academic community looks beyond journals for information.

(EBSCO Information Services) The University of Alabama has agreed to be an EBSCO FOLIO Beta Partner. University librarians and developers and EBSCO Information Services will partner together to establish FOLIO hosting and services in The University of Alabama Libraries, while also optimizing the FOLIO platform for future colleges and universities looking to adopt an open source library services platform.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced its three 2018 EBSCO Solar Grant Winners. Red Feather Lakes Community Library in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado; Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia; and the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica, will each receive $100,000 to pay for the installation of a solar array. The grants offset the cost of installing solar panels and allow libraries to reduce their electricity expenditures.

(Preservica) Digital preservation specialist Preservica announced the latest version (v5.10) of its market-leading active digital preservation and access platform. The fully supported and maintained single platform is available across Preservica’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and on-premise portfolio including Cloud Edition Essentials, Cloud Edition Professional and Enterprise Private Cloud.

(OCLC) The University of Bristol has selected OCLC Sustainable Collection Services (SCS) to help manage their print monographs as they transform their library space.

(Springer) Springer has launched the Polar Platform, a unique platform dedicated to research in polar sciences. The platform aims at developing a comprehensive collection of books, open access publications, journal articles and reference works published as part of Springer’s polar sciences programme. It also features interviews with leading researchers in this field and provides an overview of publication options.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the Ex Libris Esploro research services platform will now be available to all Esploro development partners. The first release of Esploro represents an important phase in the development of a unified research platform that will lead to broader impact of research output, greater productivity, and increased collaboration. Esploro development partners are already beginning to implement the first release, which supports the deposit and management of several research data types, as well as streamlined metadata handling that enables libraries, research offices, and researchers to work together on research projects.
