(Equinox) Equinox announced that they have successfully migrated the Federated Library System of Bedford County to Evergreen within the PaILS SPARK Consortium.

(NISO) The National Information Standards Organization announced the release of a draft version of NISO Z39.102-201x, STS: Standards Tag Suite, for public comment. STS provides a common XML format that standards developers, publishers, and distributors can use to publish and exchange full-text content and metadata of standards. It is expected that this "standard for standards" will be published in the fall as an XML document marked up in the STS standard after comments on the draft version are addressed and it is approved by NISO Voting Members and by ANSI, the American National Standards Institute.

(Springer) Springer is partnering with Federica Weblearning, which is an academic platform devoted to innovation, experimentation and the dissemination of multimedia distance learning. The collaboration allows authors and lecturers several options of preparing both a textbook and a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on a particular topic. This initiative allows Springer to further strengthen its expertise in textbook publishing, and offer its authors and customers an enhanced pedagogical experience.

(Total Boox) Total Boox, the next evolution in ebook services—maximizing use with unlimited simultaneous access while minimizing cost with payment based on actual reading—and the Tocker Foundation, a non-profit supporting the work of small libraries in Texas, are pleased to announce the continuation of their groundbreaking pilot, which makes Total Boox’s collection of nearly 100,000 quality ebooks available to 20 small and rural libraries across the state of Texas.

(ProQuest) The addition of Volume III: Judaism expands Alexander Street’s renowned Twentieth Century Religious Thought Library to encompass, at completion, 100,000 pages documenting the evolution of Judaism from the 1890s to the 2010s. Many of the documents have never been published before.

(Ingram Content Group) Ingram Content Group announced an associate promotion in Tennessee, as well as a new associate to the company in New York.

(Open Preservation Foundation) Open Preservation Foundation and the PDF Association announced that the new release of veraPDF is available. veraPDF 1.4 has a new GUI wizard for creating custom policy files. Significant performance optimisations have been made to the greenfield PDF parser.
