Sydney, AUSTRALIA, November 8, 2017 – Civica, one of Australia's leading suppliers of critical software applications, digital solutions and managed services that help transform the way organisations work, today revealed an estimated 40 percent revenue growth in Australia and New Zealand in the 2017 financial year. This figure reflects strong growth across all of Civica's business units – Local Government, Libraries & Education, Health, Community Protection and Business Process Outsourcing.
Civica's Local Government business is the largest and the fastest growing business in ANZ with over 200 customers, many of whom upgraded last year to the latest generation of its market leading Authority enterprise system. In the Libraries and Education sector Civica has consolidated its leadership position with the launch of the Spydus10 library system and the Civica Education Suite.
Civica continued to add to its ever-growing customer base with the signing of more than 20 noteworthy new name customers across the five business units. Some of Civica's most recent partnerships include:
- Goldenfields Water County Council, which partnered with Civica to implement and support a new portal called MyH2O, where citizens can manage their water consumption in real-time;
- Lake Macquarie City Council (LMCC) chose Civica's Authority open architecture enterprise system to run its large and complex organisation. It also deployed Spydus10, Civica's web-based integrated library management system to further improve citizen engagement, user experience, and enhance service delivery;
- The City of Rockingham in Western Australia, partnered with Civica to develop the ‘RockPort', an e-service community portal, available 24/7, where citizens can log in at any time, from any device. This is now being deployed by a number of other ANZ councils;
- Queensland TAFE renewed its long term libraries contract with Civica, whilst Georges River Council, City of Fremantle, City of Canning and others chose to replace their existing systems with Civica Spydus10 to transform library service delivery to the community.
In addition, Civica is now focussing on realising the local Digital Transformation agenda across the public sector by offering Australian organisations services and best practice experience from its Group Digital capability of over 800 people.
As a result of its exponential growth in Local Government, Civica has recently announced the appointment of Benjamin Cowling as the new Managing Director for Local Government Solutions. He brings over 20 years' experience in the private and public sector in ANZ and the wider Asia Pacific region. Civica has also welcomed Lynn Harrison as the new Director for Professional Services. Lynn has over 20 years' experience in leading services businesses and was previously the Director for Professional Services at Telstra.
Commenting on Civica's historic growth this financial year, Civica International's Managing Director, Richard Fiddis said:
"It has been a phenomenal year for Civica's local ANZ team and there are many reasons to celebrate and to thank our customers. We're growing on average four times faster than our closest competitors and by year end we will have nearly doubled our workforce locally. This has been achieved whilst improving customer and employee satisfaction and building on our culture of service and commitment to assist the ANZ public sector in becoming more efficient and responsive to the citizen."
"Underpinning our significant growth was the recent signing of Civica's biggest contract globally with the Department of Justice and Regulation, State of Victoria. This contract is worth approximately AUD$200 million over an initial five years for Civica to support the administration of the State's new fines system. It is also the second year running that we have signed the largest contract in the history of the company in Australia, indicating that we are a very important global market for Civica and we are attracting the investment that success deserves" he added.
