Indiana State Library Chooses Auto-Graphics' SHAREit

Ontario, CA-- May 18, 2016. Auto-Graphics, Inc., a leading provider of tools, technologies, and software developed to power libraries, and The Indiana State Library proudly announce the selection of Auto-Graphics' SHAREit, as the new state-wide Interlibrary Loan and resource sharing system.

After a competitive RFP process, Auto-Graphics was selected by Indiana State Library as the vendor of choice with their latest iteration of ILL software. SHAREit helps libraries significantly reduce the amount of time spent on managing borrowing and lending activities, greatly improving staff workflow and patron satisfaction. The system will support 166 library systems representing nearly 25 million holdings across the state. Nearly every ILS vendor is represented from large complex consortial ILS systems to local independent systems. The key to the initiative was Auto-Graphics ability to integrate 166 total libraries, running 15 different ILS systems into the SHAREit patron based ILL module.

Steven Schmidt in the Library Development Office at Indiana State Library is optimistic about the union with Auto-Graphics, "The Indiana State Library is looking forward to our partnership with Auto-Graphics. SHAREit promises to allow us to greatly expand resource sharing within Indiana, and the opportunity to link the collections of public and academic libraries is especially exciting!"

The Indiana State Library was seeking to procure a commercially available off-the-shelf solution for a resource sharing system, which will provide a single seamless catalog giving patrons the ability to search across all participating libraries in the state that is completely library system neutral. They have found that solution in SHAREit. Statewide Resource Sharing (ILL) is not something that every state has funding for or a history of doing. Thus, winning Indiana continues Auto-Graphics' expansion of having the largest pool of statewide systems of any resource sharing vendor in North America.

Albert Flores, Vice President of Sales at Auto-Graphics had this to say about Indiana's choice; "The statewide Indiana award continues Auto-Graphics efforts to provide unique and affordable statewide resource sharing systems. Auto-Graphics is pleased to add the state of Indiana as it represents a multi-type library ecosystem. Further, the proposed use of NCIP for resource sharing represents an opportunity to showcase our patron-centric resource sharing model in use by many other SHAREit systems in North America."
