Other Info: Library service began in Tualatin in 1974 with a donated book collection in the Community Center. In 1976 a local women''s extension group borrowed a book van from the Cooperative and opened it for business in the K-Mart parking lot. By 1977 the city appropriated funds to operate the Tualatin Public Library from a small house. In 1985 the library moved to its present location, occupying 14,800 square feet in the Civic Center complex.
