Other Info: In 1935 the Sherwood Public Library began as a shelf of materials in a local drugstore. The collection was later moved to a rented house. In 1969 the City of Sherwood agreed to support the library, which was moved to the basement of a house that served as City Hall. A Friends of the Library group formed in 1976 and began local fund-raising which, combined with LSCA money, built a new 3,000 square foot library in 1986.
