The collection of the library contains 183,500 volumes. The library circulates 1,200 items per year. The library serves a population of 1,800 .
Other Info: The Library of the Bank of Greece is one of the most comprehensive economic libraries in the country. It is housed in the headquarters of the Bank. The Library commenced its operations in 1928, the same year of the establishment of Bank of Greece as the central bank of the country. Since its commencement it reported to the Economic Research Department. Since April 2013 it reports to the Centre for Culture, Research and Documentation. The core subjects of its collection are economics, finance, banking, monetary policy, statistics, law and business administration. The Library's collection is constantly being developed in line with the operations of the Bank . It is the procurement center for subscribed electronic resources, print and electronic newspapers and journals for the Bank. Although it is open to the public, it is a lending library only to the Bank's employees. The Library's collections include print and electronic resources. The collection of electronic resources gradually proliferates. It provides access to specialized databases to be used as tools by the Bank's employees, supporting their work in the Bank. It also subscribes to e-journals and e-books. The Library holds a rare book collection of about 1,000 volumes, the oldest dated in 1534. The Library is open to the general public during working days from 09:00 to 13:30 by appointment.
