Other Info: In support of NOAA and IOC (Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission) tsunami mitigation efforts, ITIC retains, collects, and disseminates information dealing with tsunamis. The collection includes scientific research, IOC publications, educational materials, post-tsunami surveys, and historical materials. Works from the disciplines of seismology, oceanography, coastal engineering, and disaster management are found here, in many languages. Not only a resource of visiting scientists or others affiliated with the IOC''s International Coordinating Group for Tsunami Warning in the Pacific (ICG/ITSU), the library is also used as a basis for answering inquiries from the general public. In-house use of the materials is allowed.
