Other Info: Located in the Meadows School of the Arts, the Hamon Library is a 46,000 square foot, four floor facility which houses SMU's collections in art, arts administration, cinema, dance, music, and theater, including 175,000 cataloged books and scores, 30,000 audio and video recordings, and 265 current periodical subscriptions. The library contains an audio-visual center, computer lab, exhibition spaces, a meeting room, group and individual studies, and a secure, climate controlled Special Collections area, which includes the Jerry Bywaters Collection on Art of the Southwest, the McCord/Renshaw Collection of film, theater and dance in Texas, the Greer Garson Collection, and the Paul Van Katwijk Music Collection. The G. William Jones Film and Video Collection, housed in the lower lever of the Greer Garson Theater, houses the library''s collection of film in all formats, and includes significant collections in film history, such as the Tyler, Texas Black Film Collection.
