Other Info: Central Library closed in 22 February 2011, because of earthquake damge to it and surrounding buildings. To provide some service in the CBD one smaller library with about 40,000 volumes was opened in July 2011 and another, with about 70,000 volumes, in December 2011. The first library changed location twice since then. The Central building was demolished in September-November 2014 to make way for a convention centre currently under construction. The new central library, built nearby, opened on 12 October 2018
