Other Info: The Aubrey Area Library was founded in 1985 as a civic project of the Sesquicentennial Committee of Aubrey. The library became a member of the Denton County Library System in 1986 and the North Texas Library System in 1987. The old municipal building was restored in 1987 in a Victorian Style. The restoration was completed through donations without the expenditure of a single tax dollar. On June 12, 2006, in its 20th year of operation, a new and much larger library opened at 226 Countryside Drive in Aubrey.
