• In 2005 the library purchased a .98m satellite dish with a capacity to support an enterprise of 500 users with funds received from a Bill and Melinda Gates Staying Connected Grant and the Idaho Commission for Libraries. The library is currently the only facility in Elk River with broadband and WiFi.
• The library has four patron computers with broadband Internet access
• The library is a wireless environment providing free broadband access to patrons with laptops
• In October 2006, the library received notification that it will be the recipient of a $162,941.00 USDA Rural Development Community Connect Grant. The library will become an Internet Service Provider (ISP) for Elk River utalizing a network of antennas throughout town and the current satellite dish as an uplink. The new system will provide several key community facilities with free broadband access for two years. Also with the grant the library will build a new addition to the existing building to house a computer laboratory with ten new computers.
