Other Info: The Resource Sharing Alliance is a non-profit network of 150 library agencies, including public libraries, public and private school libraries, public and private academic libraries, and special schools. These libraries serve the population of twenty-six contiguous counties in Illinois covering 14,000+ square miles. The consortia uses SirsiDynix Symphony software running in a VMware environment on Cicso UCS servers and an EMC SAN. RSA has been in existence since 1980 and merged with the Alliance Library System in July of 1999. RSA returned to a Not For Profit organization in April 2011 due to the merger of the Alliance Library System with 4 other Illinois Library Systems. RSA NFP now operates on a service contract basis with the Reaching Across Illinois Library System, the successor to the Alliance Library System. The Resource Sharing Alliance is centrally located to its membership in East Peoria. RSA NFP serves as on of four LLSAPs (Local Library System Automation Program) for the Reaching Across Illinois Library System.
