UNIRED (Economic and social sciences information network) is a co-operative system established in Buenos Aires in 1989 as a mechanism to find, promote and exchange bibliographic information. This database is the result of the work of 59 libraries of 52 government, private and international institutions currently members of UNIRED. The database was created with MicroISIS, software provided by Unesco, and for the online catalog was used WWWISIS of BIREME. The OPAC was developed by Eduardo Giordanino and Eduardo Bogliolo (as external consultant) and coordinated by Leonor Plate, Library Director.
