Other Info: Helmet libraries is a functional consortium of four public libraries in Helsinki area (Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Vantaa City Libraries). Helmet libraries have more than 60 branches, 6 book mobiles, several hospital libraries and homebound services serving a population of ca. 1.1 million. The annual circulation is ca. 16 million checkouts and number of holds ca. 2.5 million. There are 700 000 bibliographic records in the database, 3.7 million item records and 700 000 patron records. The number of visits to Helmet Web Site and Catalog (helmet.fi) in 2015 totalled 8.6 million. Number of selfcheck devices (SIP2) in Helmet Libraries is 200+. We use selfcheck-out automats, selfcheck-in automats and selfcheck-in automats with sorting capability provided by local vendors ATP Automation, Mikro-Väylä and P.V.Supa. At this time both barcode and RFID technology are used.
