Pomona, CA. September 12, 2002. Auto-Graphics, Inc. announces the signing of an agreement with CAPCON to distribute Auto-Graphics' Agent to its member-based network of libraries. CAPCON represents the first regional, library member-based network to partner with Auto-Graphics to provide Agent to its member libraries. Agent is a single search portal software system and is available as a perpetual license with support, or, as a full service site hosted by Auto-Graphics (ASP annual fee).
Auto-Graphics' Agent allows users to simultaneously search multiple databases. The System manages patron authentication for multiple databases; insures copyright compliance against subscription databases; and can be customized at the library level. The flexible design of Agent allows scaling from a single site to a multi-branch urban institution, or even statewide consortia.
“This alliance will provide a useful extension of our sales efforts through a network dedicated to serving its members with the latest technologies and latest customer support,” said Albert Flores, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Auto-Graphics.
CAPCON, a member-governed not-for-profit organization for over 26 years, provides vital services to libraries in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Maryland, and Virginia. Among the many services CAPCON provides are access to OCLC cataloging, resource sharing; electronic reference sources; training in Web authoring and development, information retrieval and organization, general computing skills; consulting services related to aspects of library management; and discounted electronic reference products and services for member libraries.
